Rolling out a map i get to work
I’ve always loved the smell of paper
Cartography is fun when we decide where everything resides
I hear a sound, i feel my chest puff up

Somewhere beyond that darkness someone is calling my name 
Faintly i hear them say "dinner’s done, turn off the game"

How many times must i write a sad song?
It’s all been leading up to this day
A tune that i’ve been hearing all along
Creative gears, the bolts and screws of my brain
I’ve always felt it coming loose, turning grey
My skull will be a graveyard full of code
I’ll feel it all erode
