BLACK RAVE

The seed will unfurl is a play on the process of gardening, and the way in which it reflects how optimism and patience shows up through an unpredictable climate. A seed is the very beginning, whereas the unfurling shows the result of weeks, maybe months of work by a living thing. What happens between it all? How does it unfurl, and do we stop to consider that process?

The result of something transformative and seemingly satisfactory comes from a lot of support, nurturing and experimenting. I think to understand and accept this process is to make peace with the process of change in our larger environment. The journey is very difficult for these living organisms and most of the work cannot be seen at the surface. 

This mix reflects a similar process. It begins at a slow pace, with deep grit and almost a dragging groove…but something is happening. It goes on to include rhythms and breaks that could resemble a plateau in the process or growth of an idea, until it becomes a more conceptualized, conceivable version of what has happened. By the end we can marvel, relax and perhaps in the work that has been endured.

I encourage listeners to do something that involves a long process while engaging with this mix.

About the mix: El house fue una de mis primeras llaves a la búsqueda de mi propia identidad como una persona no binaria. La pista de baile fue donde pude encontrarme y liberarme, es un espacio demasiado sagrado para mí, donde puedes encontrarte con personas maravillosas unidas por lo mismo, la música. 
Nos abrimos, nos entendemos y la música es nuestro conductor hacia grandes epifanías que suceden en la pista de baile.
Este set es una evidencia de ésto y del viaje musical que me gusta crear, pasando por diferentes géneros musicales para generar momentos de introspección y euforia en las personas. 
Pueden encontrar clásicos, percusiones, house, bubbling, disco, afro y siempre con sonoridades latinas, que fueron los pilares musicales de mi infancia queer, habiendo sido nacide y criade en la Patagonia Chilena, en Punta Arenas.
