Josh Lawrence is a critically acclaimed
trumpeter and composer. His ensemble was dubbed “an all-star outfit” by The New York Times.

Bandmates include alto saxophonist Caleb Curtis, drummer Anwar Marshall, pianist Zaccai Curtis, and bassist Luques Curtis.
 
The quintet’s third album Triptych is now available on Posi-Tone Records.
 
A "preeminent voice among young composers" (Downbeat 2017), Lawrence has received awards from Chamber Music America, the American Composers Forum, the Pew Center for Arts and Heritage, and the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia.

Lawrence also codirects the Fresh Cut Orchestra and is a member of pianist Orrin Evans' GRAMMY nominated Captain Black Big Band.

CLAFFY, Why were we torn apart?: one song at a time.

CLAFFY is the debut record from Bassist, Vocalist, Composer, and Producer of the same name. A
through composed "Concept Record" that not only embodies the story of heartbreak, but the many musical moods that he traveled through to get there.
A true story, this musical novel reveals a tragic question mark at the end: shall we meet again?

CLAFFY keeps you inside of his penultimate love song with the help of his friends (maybe band instead of friends??) Birds Of A Feather and renowned producer Michael Perez-Cisneros (Kurt Rosenwinkel's "Heartcore" and "The Remedy: Live At The Vanguard"). The record
introduces vocalists Michael Stephenson, Camila Meza and Dida Pelled, as well as some of the newest young lions on the NYC scene including pianists Victor Gould and Michael King; drummers Jonathan Barber and Kyle Poole, alto saxophonist Matt Chalk and many others.


Philadelphia guitarist and music maker, Mike Kennedy, has been sharing his passion for melody and musical imagery with eclectic audiences for over twenty years. Mike has spent his musical life exploring many moods, textures and spaces and continues to use each performance as a launchpad to search for new and compelling musical experiences.  
Mike’s recent release, ‘Landfall”, features haunting melodic passages, plenty of Twang, pedal steel and calls upon imagery reminiscent of the old west territories. These songs are inspired by an imagined perspective of what it must be like in those regions of desert that are surrounded by  mountain and water and enormous sky, where the horizon is barely visible. Painted with broad strokes of Americana, Folk and Jazz, Landfall is a sonic field trip to those open spaces.
