About:
Over the past two years Mike Prigodich’s jazz-fusion compositions have begun attracting attention from many well-known national artists. For him, becoming a cancer patient in 2008 was the big wake-up call that got him to start writing new music, construct a band, start booking gigs, and pursue his dream of becoming a professional jazz musician. According to Prigodich, fellow cancer survivor Lance Armstrong inspired all this. Mike went on to raise over $10,000 on kickstarter.com in 2010 to fund this project which features Damian Erskine, Reinhardt Melz, John Nastos, Brandon Woody, Rafael Trujillo, Patrick Lamb, Tim Jensen, and Paul Mazzio. Emmy award-winning David Mathew also was on board to produce the project. “A Stitch in Time" is a breakout album for Prigodich, who says; “This album is a literally a dream come true and something I've wanted to do since childhood, but it took the life-changing event of a cancer diagnosis to give me the motivation I needed to make it happen. Like Lance Armstrong winning his first Tour de France, this project became my way to LIVESTRONG. It was a great honor and pleasure to work with these incredible musicians and hear my compositions come to life. I look forward to creating more great music in the years to come." Prigodich currently resides in Portland, Oregon and enjoys playing with some of the finest musicians in town who are up to the task of performing his extremely challenging, but accessible compositions. Been blogging, music sharing, etc. for a while now (see blog under this name) & DJing since 1982. I like all kinds of music.

Most of my playlists are not organized & just hold songs I'm interested in, many of which I haven't listened to yet. The "freeform current listening" playlist is as it says & will be updated regularly. Many of my reposts were unintentional, they were just random tracks I was trying to add to a playlist using my phone & I've got clumsy fingers.

Mads Tolling is two-time Grammy Award-winning violinist and composer from Copenhagen, Denmark, now based in the San Francisco Bay Area. A former member of both Stanley Clarke's band and the Turtle Island Quartet, Mads has performed with renowned artists like Chick Corea, Ramsey Lewis, Paquito D’Rivera, and Leo Kottke. He is currently a member of Bob Weir & Wolf Bros and leads his own ensembles.

After graduating from Berklee College of Music in 2003, Mads joined Stanley Clarke's band on the recommendation of Jean-Luc Ponty. He has been featured on NPR’s Morning Edition and received praise from the Washington Post and The San Francisco Chronicle. In 2016, Mads won DownBeat Critics Poll Rising Star Violin Award. Mads has performed for King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark at the 50th Anniversary for the Danish Embassy in Washington D.C. 

Mads has written violin concertos for The Oakland Symphony and Pacific Chamber Orchestra and has performed them around the U.S. and Japan, including with The Hawaii Symphony and Orchestra Kanazawa. As a member of Bob Weir & Wolf Bros, Mads has recorded three albums and toured extensively, playing venues like Red Rocks and Radio City Music Hall. With hundreds of concerts worldwide, he leads Mads Tolling & The Mads Men and recorded the album Playing the 60s, which reimagines songs from 1960’s TV, film and radio. The release topped US jazz radio charts and peaked at #5. 

Mads is a featured Yamaha Artist, offering clinics and masterclasses globally.
