The second track from my #FUCKWHOIOFFEND Summer series, as well as both an unreleased track from the vault, as well my debut on SoundCloud. This song made on an instrumental from Anno Domini Beats, touches on looking for answers and seeking guidance, while doubting yourself and questioning your worth. I was in a really dark place at the time of writing this, struggling with promoting music, finishing school, and feeling as if I am too far behind in life, while everyone else seems to be on their feet acheiving their goals and dreams. Regardless of how many people listen to this song, I feel it is a weight lifted, now that I've finally released it. Enjoy!

Also, the beat is made and produced by Milwaukee's Dave "Audiopilot" Miller. There's no special story to this, except for those that know me and/or Denku, know when we get together, it is simply no frill, no gimmick, back and forth, brain confusing lyricism. I wrote this song in June 2020, the height of the protests surrounding the death of George Floyd by police. Around this time, I was incredibly frustrated, not knowing how to deal with the emotions that had surfaced. To hear the voices out there defending what happened, to confusing our anger through destruction as us being criminals & vigilantes. To this day, in the wake of Jacob Blake, Breanna Taylor & many others, I still don't. So I wrote this song, knowing that even though I hope one day that we don't have to endure racism, prejudice & hate anymore, we still have a long way to go to get there.

I hope you get something out of what I'm saying.

Mad Static is a hip-hop artist, poet, and songwriter, based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Throughout his life as a teenager, he looked to music (specifically hip-hop, metal, and alternative rock) as a way of dealing with the pressures of high school and living up to others' expectations, that nearly led him to depression. Ever since he first performed poetry for his high school talent show, Static began going non-stop at writing and doing whatever it took to get his name heard. 

Around 2005, Static decided to make hip-hop music a full-time ambition, as he began to collaborate and network with other local artists, in hopes to find his signature sound. A sound that would mix his spoken word roots, with other influences from his days of studying rap music, that ranges from everyone well-known to underrated. If not enough, a lot of Static's songs incorporate themes of mostly heartache, loss, and paranoia with the world around him, and recited in almost a stream-of-consciousness delivery. While the instrumentals behind his voice are subdued in hard-hitting drums, strings, pianos, and the subtlety of guitars, noting of his rock influence. 

Mad Static is a man of many personalities, emotions, and ideas, to the point where you never know which side of him you'll get. However, at the end of the day, the one thing he makes clear, is that he doesn't rap for money, or fame, or anything materialistic. When he writes, it is to tell a story, when he speaks, it's to express his pain, and when he performs, it is to share the moment with those around him. Music is much more to Mad Static, and for those reasons, it is why to this day he remains an artist that refuses to compromise or dumb down to be the best in the game.
