MadTech Records returns this March with a sixteen-track various artist compilation entitled ‘Miami 2016’.

Kerri Chandler’s MadTech Records had yet another incredible year in 2015 with two critically acclaimed compilations plus releases from Alexis Raphael, Cera Alba and Artifact all garnering support from BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac and Danny Howard, Gorgon City, Groove Armada, James Zabiela, Maya Jane Coles and many more. Here we see MadTech push on with a fresh various artists compilation set for release around the revered Miami Winter Conference in March.

In typical fashion from the MadTech imprint ‘Miami 2016’ treats us to an array of contemporary house grooves from notable names such as Max Chapman, Solardo, Hauswerks & Raffa FL and Capulet. As always with these various artist compilations from the imprint though, ‘Miami 2016’ embraces the opportunity to shed some light on up and coming talents from across the globe with burgeoning producers such as Neil Parkes, Di Chiara Brothers, Rich Wakley, Timmy P & James Dexter plus many more making an appearance.

Blue Submarine EP is an example of Vercetti’s emerging talent and confirms why he’s been receiving such high praise. The title track is a percussion-led soulful groove that ticks over nicely. It features a looped mantra, the voice repeating ‘dedicated our lives to the sound’, a message that sticks tightly to the ethos of Syrossian’s A&R skills. Darius Syrossian himself is on remix duty, keeping the focus around the percussion elements but littering the track with his own subtle touches adding swooshing synths, spaced out effects and weighty kicks. ‘Misch’ is a real tech house roller set off by lush drum pads, while ‘Where’s Ya Flute’ has future Do Not Sleep anthem written all over it. Vercetti creates a carnival atmosphere awash with tribal drums, rising synths and a punchy bass-line groove that will get any dancefloor moving.

Tommy Vercetti’s Do Not Sleep debut is more than a solid introduction, showing a musical maturity beyond his years and high hopes for the future. Believe the hype.

MadTech Records was founded in 2012 as an offshoot imprint to Madhouse Records, the long-running record label launched by Kerri Chandler in 1992. Now MadTech is a few years old and having been musically guided by Kerri himself has gone on to form a well-respected reputation with a coterie of emerging talents on the roster.
