Lost Records have called upon newcomer PAWSA to showcase his talents on the label’s third release. 

The title track “Pilot” delivers a dose of straight up jacking grooves with infectious old school drums, precise hi-hats and growling basslines. “Pilot” introduces PAWSA’s slick productions setting the stage perfectly for the second track on the EP  “The Narcissist”.

Built on similar foundations to “Pilot”, “The Narcissist” kicks off with a more stripped back soundscape, playing, sinister vocals against a low slung bass line. 
The final track of the EP “Pretty Good Debbie” is a more laid back affair the swinging hi-hats pushing the track through to a mean build up and drop.

To round off the EP the icing on the cake is a remix of “Pretty Good Debbie” from Italian legends Supernova. After a blistering 2013, Supernova bring their dark & dubby  twist to the table, with key features of the original in tact cementing them into a heavier groove whilst playing off atmospheric build ups and break downs.

The Northern England up and comer on the tip of everyone’s tongue, Josh Butler, drops
the ‘No Frills’ EP via Kerri Chandler’s MadTech Records this March.

Josh Butler’s been steadily bubbling away on the British underground for quite some time now, and it seems 2014 is going to see Butler truly shine with a busy touring schedule already locked in for the year. Material on Love Not Money and OFF Recordings further brought to light Josh’s talents and now the Leeds based producer joins the MadTech roster, following the footsteps of Celsius, Mia Dora and No Artificial Colours in the rise to stardom.

Kicking off the single is title track ‘No Frills (Dub)’, which sees Butler play off a rugged, strippedback rhythm, built around a classic 4/4 foundation, while popping percussion, warbling dub-tinged bass and infectious vocal murmurs meander around the drums. Creating a hypnotic, undeviating groove, given an even more striking affect when menacing synth sweeps draw the attention away from it sporadically. The end result is a refined contemporary roller designer for the dance floor.

Then on the latter half of the single we have ‘Like This’, staying on a similar tip with loose beats and shuffling snares driving the record. While a hooky sub bass drives the energy and an undeniably catchy vocal line uttering ‘the beat goes like this’ adds a further widespread, modern appeal to the cut.

Josh Butler’s ‘No Frills’ EP is out on MadTech Records 3rd March (Beatport Exclusive) and 17th March (General) 2014.

This up and coming Los Angeles based duo is making some serious noise on the deep house/ future house/ future bass scene. Sergio Paramo and Carlos Alcala both hail from the San Gabriel Valley, an area just outside of Los Angeles. The pair grew up raving the ever historic rave scene in LA. Their early influences revolve around The Chemical Brothers, Justice, MSTRKRFT, Boys Noize, AC Slater, Jack Beats, to even guys like Johh Digweed, Eric Prydz, Deep Dish, Above & Beyond, and Armin Van Buuren. 

The boys both produce like Yin and Yang. One half being educated and mastering classical music by the ever so prestigious Berkeley School of Music in Boston while his other half was self educated and DJing in LA's underground rave scene for the past 6 years.

They first began to make some serious noise in 2013/2014 with their Electro House/Big room bootlegs and originals that were instant blog/internet hits followed with releases on CR2 Records. They were supported by some of the biggest names such as DJ Snake, Steve Aoki, Showtek, Knife Party and so forth.

After a short stint in Big Room House.. this chic duo is about to win over the dance floors and many female's playlist with their deep bass, and sexy groove making anyone want to get up and dance. 2015 is the year all the hard work will pay off for this duo. Keep an eye out on the streets for NIGHT CRIME!
