ZamZam number 20 is a stunning power-move from the new Berlin-based duo of Dub War and Infra. This is sophisticated dubwise for the head and the feet, as elegant as it is heavy, a vocal / dub combination that will satisfy the most critical and demanding dubheads. Full of menace and intrigue, 'If It’s Not The Police' and 'If It’s Not The Dub' feature deep studio science and sound design paired with classic dub aesthetics, dubstep bass-weight, and halftime garage swing. Analog-sounding cymbals and rim shots ride the subterranean undertow of the kick and bass to create a heaving, spacious rhythm made to move bodies and transport minds together. The vocal speaks of police and military violence disrupting the dance.

BADUOLOGY is my personal ode to the 'analogue girl in the digital world' in celebration of the 20th anniversary of her debut album 'Baduizm' which is still one of my all-time-favorite LPs. It features some of Queen E’s most significant work from the past two decades, alongside songs sampled on Badu records as well as unique skits and blends, all edited and mixed by myself.

Back at it... This is my new track titled "Where Do We Go From Here?" This record serves as the beginning of a series of releases in 2017. Every month I'm doing something new. Every release will be self-released and free. Every release with a story and a purpose. You can read about my creative process with this track below.

A lot of the new music I’ve been writing is going back to my roots and music I have loved since I was a kid. I noticed textures, sounds and the feeling I got from music I enjoy to listen to found in NIN, Depeche Mode, Deftones, Beach House, My Bloody Valentine, and Slowdive weren’t in anything I was doing. 

I started to explore new tempos, new sounds and textures and tried to incorporate that into my work. I was also faced with the challenge of writing music that will connect without vocals or a vocal hook of any kind. To make something heavy, personal, and still human without human elements. 

I left "Where Do We Go From Here" purposefully minimal, cavernous, this is the beginning of a longer process. I wanted to set out and define what HXV is and sounds like once and for all; not as a reaction to the project's environment, but something separate from EDM, separate from traditional festival music. Something that stands on its own.
