I absolutely adored this song back in '93 when I was 12, only heard it a couple of times back then. This edition would make Mr Koshiro proud! Amazing work!

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Nov. 6/23🔥 - The previous versions of "Revenge Of Mr. X" sounded pretty good, but for this one, I needed to bring my AAA game. I believe it's never sounded better, especially with the mixture of heavy metal rhythm and twin lead guitars to bring out the menace and mayhem of Yuzo Koshiro's original composition. The song also pays tribute to "Big Boss" from Streets of Rage 1, with an identical ending passage to link the two games together. 

NOTE: This is the "Final Crash" edition of the song, in reference to the last time I will be touching the original SOR soundtracks. I now consider them totally complete.

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Nov. 6/23🔥 - The "Good End" for Streets of Rage 2 isn't a big departure from Yuzo Koshiro's original. It just builds on the existing formula to create a little more atmosphere and a LOT more emotion in the expanded section. I love how it darts back and forth between happy, and slightly ominous, without ever losing its sense of triumph and positivity. It's an emotional end to a decade-long project - expanding and enhancing Streets of Rage 2's soundtrack.

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Nov. 23/23🔥 - The original version of "Shinobi Reverse" was catchy, but far too repetitive. It should have been stretched out and sprinkled with some variety, which is why I was happy to tackle the tune. My Expanded & Enhanced version plays up the fusion of Japanese culture with a classic Shakuhachi flute sample, and a brand new section done with a traditional Japanese harp. It's got a much more authentic feel to it now - mixture of old history, and new electronica.

Tracktober 015: Hoot Hoot (Fireflies by Owl City Cover) in Eb major at 103 BPM

Day 15 of my Tracktober challenge 🎃 — every day this month I’m writing and posting a track sketch. These are works-in-progress (WIP), not finished mixes (I only put max 2 hours into each one!) — the goal is to practice showing up daily, experiment with new ideas, and share the creative process openly instead of waiting until everything is “perfect.”

• Concept: Synths and sound design! Pick a MIDI sample and run with it. I chse  
• What I practiced: Oscillators, MIDI refining, finding synths/presets, samples, effects, etc. 
• Imperfections: I’m still trying to make it sound a bit more “rock disco” without sounding TOO dirty, but so far, we’re just playing and it’s fun. 
• Influences: TOMMY the musical this time!
