This soundtrack would be hardcore, and Motohiro Kawashima brought the goods. For this song, I wanted to build an expansion onto it that felt completely natural and logical, and I wanted the listener to miss the transition entirely. The objective? To create a sense that this is the definitive fleshed out version of the song. It's my take, and I hope Kawashima-san enjoys it, if he ever listens to it.

Fuze (Expanded & Enhanced) - STREETS OF RAGE 3

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Nov. 23/23🔥 - "Disco" is one of the most annoying and repetitive tracks in Streets of Rage 3, and since it's barely 30 seconds long, there was very little to work with. However, that's always part of the fun, and a great challenge for me. For this version of the song, I wanted to play up the rapid-fire club elements of the 1990s dance scene, as made famous by the best rave, house and techno acts of the time period.

Disco (Expanded & Enhanced) - STREETS OF RAGE 3

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Nov. 23/23🔥 - "Percussion" is a very tricky tune with a Caribbean-style beat and a lot of abstract elements, which is why it took some time to figure out a way to branch off into an accompanying section.  I'm happy with what I came up with, and I think it's a nice departure from the main theme, without leaving it entirely.

Percussion (Expanded & Enhanced)- STREETS OF RAGE 3

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Nov. 23/23🔥 - "Random Cross" is one of the most abstract songs on the entire album, and therefore very difficult to expand. I decided less is more for this one, rather than go off in too drastic a direction. The song maintains the humming groove right to the end, with just a little bit of aesthetic fiddling to help add some flavor to it.

Random Cross (Expanded & Enhanced) - STREETS OF RAGE 3

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Nov. 23/23🔥 - "Happy Paradise" lives up to its name with a positive swing, flanked by a series of slightly disjointed and warped notes in order to remain faithful to the rest of the SOR3 soundtrack. I capitalized on this slightly off-kilter feel in order to build out my expansion, alternating back and forth between the warped notes and the happiness of the stock track. The objective was to put a smile on your face. Are you "happy?"

Happy Paradise (Expanded & Enhanced)- STREETS OF RAGE 3

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Nov. 23/23🔥 - The original version of "Shinobi Reverse" was catchy, but far too repetitive. It should have been stretched out and sprinkled with some variety, which is why I was happy to tackle the tune. My Expanded & Enhanced version plays up the fusion of Japanese culture with a classic Shakuhachi flute sample, and a brand new section done with a traditional Japanese harp. It's got a much more authentic feel to it now - mixture of old history, and new electronica.

Shinobi Reverse (Expanded & Enhanced) - STREETS OF RAGE 3

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Nov. 23/23🔥 - "Robo X" is a semi-boss track that unfortunately didn't get a lot of attention in the original game. It's a simple, straightforward song with odd time signatures that loops very fast, leaving very little material to draw from. I decided to just go with my instinct to construct a middle section, while blending new parts with existing material to create a more fleshed out version. It's also worth noting that I incorrectly titled this song "Mr. X," which is incorrect. That was now been fixed.

Robo X (Expanded & Enhanced) - STREETS OF RAGE 3

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Nov. 23/23🔥 - Unless you're a diehard acid techno fan, "Crazy Train" will undoubtedly drive you.......crazy. Expanding this song was a challenge, but I ended up slicing the track into three equal parts, stuffing my own content in between, then tightening it up with a mid section that hopefully gives it room to breathe. For the FINAL CRASH edition of the soundtrack, I added some more menace to the expansion so counteract the poppy feel of my original Gold Edition last year.

Crazy Train (Expanded & Enhanced) - STREETS OF RAGE 3

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Nov. 23/23🔥 - "Cycle II" continues the abstract acid-techno vibe of its predecessor, not to mention many other songs on the Streets of Rage 3 soundtrack. I decided to infuse it with some traditional 90s-flavored synths, landlord stabs and constructs for the middle section, in order to add to the wackiness of the track.

Cycle II (Expanded & Enhanced) - STREETS OF RAGE 3

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Nov. 23/23🔥 - "Kamadecoco" never really saw a proper North American release, as the developers didn't think the character of Ash would fly with audiences over there. Nevertheless, it's a quirky little track that a lot of fans have been requesting I put my spin on, so here it is. I reference "Spinning Machine" in this track on purpose for a bit of familiarity. Plus, it sounds dang cool.
