This is a brand new expanded and enhanced version of "The Street of Rage" from Streets of Rage 1, to commemorate the "Final Crash" releases of my Streets of Rage soundtracks. This track will also be incorporated into the F-Games fan game release of STREETS OF RAGE X, for which I am providing the full official soundtrack for. 

This is a much different take on the original theme than my previous work, the "S.O.R. Super Mix," which was originally conceptualized to be a hybrid of the main themes from the first two games. This one stands on its own, but in order to close out this massive chapter in my chiptune composing journey, I've purposely written the expansion so that it directly references "S.O.R. Super Mix," the "Good Ending" theme from Streets of Rage 3, and "You Became The Bad Guy!" from Streets of Rage 1. I love it, and I hope you do, too.

For the first time, MaestroDraven and IceFerno team up! This is a completely original co-composition featuring our collective skills and talents, as an ode to the Streets of Rage video game series we both love so much.

"Brawler's Nook" has been composed specifically for the menu section of F-Games' fantastic "Streets of Rage X" fan game (link below). As many of you know, my Expanded & Enhanced versions of the three SOR soundtracks act as the official soundtrack for the game, and both IceFerno and I thought it would be cool to make this particular song our first official collaboration. 

Working with IceFerno has been fantastic. We're two guys with a mutual love for SOR music, and the back-and-forth writing process was smooth, seamless and completely harmonious from start to finish. Fighting In The Street (Expanded & Enhanced) - STREETS OF RAGE

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Oct. 25/23🔥 - "Attack The Barbarian" is a ruthless track that is offset by funky club dance elements pertinent to the early 1990s electronic scene. I wanted to expand on Yuzo Koshiro's aggressive boss theme with a more fleshed out take that adds to the menace of the original track, without detracting from its impact.

Attack The Barbarian (Expanded & Enhanced) - STREETS OF RAGE

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Oct. 25/23🔥 - When I originally tackled "Dilapidated Town," I wanted to make it more groovy and accessible, as I felt the original was a bit too "bippity-boppity" with its PSG chip elements. Some piano here, an appropriately simplistic saxophone there, and voila...an expansion that compliments the original, while sounding totally unique unto itself.

Dilapadated Town (Expanded & Enhanced) - STREETS OF RAGE

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Oct. 25/23🔥 - "Keep The Groovin" is a special song for me. It was the first of my expansions that felt the most natural to me in terms of progression, as if it had been there since the beginning, but never actually released. Smooth, emotional elements and instrumentation help boost the straightforward delivery of the original song, while fleshing out its depth in the process.

Keep The Groovin' (Expanded & Enhanced) - STREETS OF RAGE

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Oct. 25/23🔥 - "Violent Breathing" was one of those original Streets of Rage songs that didn't actually sound very violent at all. My intention was to give the song its due by incorporating a more powerful expansion that starts off with a dazzling piano and synth buildup, leading to a thunderous, riotous middle section intended to get heads banging, and feet stomping...LOUDLY!

Violent Breathing (Expanded & Enhanced) - STREETS OF RAGE

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Oct. 25/23🔥 - "You Became The Bad Guy!" had a simple premise - sound like a darker take on the game's main theme. However, there wasn't much to the original song, which is why I wanted to tackle it so badly. My expansion is a completely new composition that takes those scant few elements from the original, and creates a totally different listening experience in the process. The result is more emotion, more power, and more references to other Streets of Rage themes to create a canonical harmony between them all.

You Became The Bad Guy! (Expanded & Enhanced) - STREETS OF RAGE

🔥 GOLD EDITION UPDATE / May 19, 2022 🔥 - This is my definitive final remaster of "Good Ending," featuring better sound balancing, stereo width, EQing and mastering to provide the ultimate clarity. I tacked on a new section at the end just to flesh out the emotion of the song a bit more, which I felt was appropriate. That's just my take.

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Nov. 6/23🔥 - "Never Return Alive" is the one track that blew everyone away when I expanded it years ago. Now, I'm happy to put out the FINAL CRASH edition of the song, with the best balancing, clarity and power to bring out the sound. With thrashing heavy metal rhythm guitars and thumping beats, I wanted to pay homage to Koshiro's work with a Boss theme to end ALL Boss themes.
