It can take immense effort to try and make it over a mountain. Often we can feel like our own fears weigh us down. Though if we can step through that door once I know there is potential to make it out the other side. We just need a little courage in our hearts.

I composed this piece in dedication of a dear friend of mine Grace Kennedy. She is ambitious, knowledgeable, caring, talented and above all has the strength and patience to reach any mountain she desires to climb. Since, Grace is in color-guard I wanted to try and capture her adventurous, compassionate spirit in the score.

A Heart of Courage

Ethan Anderson is a passionate composer. As a young child, he hummed tunes to his favorite films and TV shows as he learned to talk. Music has always been a way Ethan communicated his feelings and thoughts with the world.

His passion for composing began at the age of 14 years old. The compositions he heard in his head could now be heard by others through the use of an iPad. With his patient mentor, Adam Jones, he began learning the secrets of music theory.

Ethan writes his compositions as he travels. Since January of 2011, he has been living full-time in an RV traveling the United States. He draws inspiration from the ever-changing culture and beauty that surrounds him. Ethan hopes to become a great composer such as his heroes - John Williams, Alan Silvestri, and Michael Giacchino.
