And thus the year of chaos begins! This was extremely fun to compose, as it was my first time using Chinese and Japanese instruments. To say that I'm excited for this would be an understatement. I also wanted to capture the emotions of the chaos storyline with the composition. However that will make more sense, as more lore is revealed.

Ancients Awakened: Otherworld OST - Discordance Sonata - (Main Menu Theme of the Mire and Inferno)

I went into this one without recording a concept first. I had a vague idea of what I wanted to do, but I came up with a big chunk of this while composing. I wanted the theme for the Grips to be energetic, but I also wanted to reflect how they are supposed to be the first obstacle (not counting vanilla) the player faces. At the end I'm pretty satisfied with it.

I know I said Broodmother would be next, but the editing process is taking a bit so in the meantime I thought I'd start working on the Mire themes. I wanted Mire music to sound slower and more sinister compared to the Inferno for lore reasons that I can't share yet. I am interested in theories people will come up with though.

I'm alive. I've been busy with other side projects but the Otherworld OST is back. I am continuing with the Mire themes and I wanted them to follow the same trend as the Inferno themes. Their composition remains similar however the factor that makes them sound different is the instrumentation. I wanted nighttime Mire to feel far more sinister and menacing than daytime, as nighttime is when the Mire is the most active. Overall I'm satisfied with the end result.

At last we are getting to the juicier themes. This was a massive challenge for me since I didn't really have concrete ideas on what to put in the theme. Luckily I kept coming up with new ideas as I composed which really made it an enjoyable process. The vocals were however the most challenging part of this as I have minimal voice training and I'm usually unsatisfied with my voice.  However after a total of 12 hours of recording, I would say I'm happy with the results.

We're back to familiar waters! I'm officially out of school hell so it is finally time to start releasing the backlog of music I've been composing these past few months. I've been wanting to remake the Lost Sea tracks for a while now since they're my most dated works and don't exactly fit in with the rest of my works now. It felt very nostalgic go back and remake Ensemble and I'm quite excited for how you guys will feel about the other upcoming remakes.

After much waiting, the year of Valor finally begins. Beyond Repair is easily one of my favorite tracks to date and I'm looking forward to future tracks. Valor is my favorite storylines and the one I'm most involved in the writing of, so I want to go all out with these tracks.
