Inspired by a course I recently completed that made me see my self doubt and sense of loss in this world. This mix is where I play with my journey of dancing with the dark, embracing the light, taming the dragon and finding that path to my true purpose and doing what I love ❤️🐉

The Hero’s journey

A short story of my life as an adult. The 1st track marks the beginning and made a huge impact on who and where I am today (I’ve just given my age away 🤪🙈💥)! There should be moments of joy and discomfort in this journey.

Fusion Festival, that was fun!!

Here's the recording of my set on Sunday 12 - 3pm in Räuberhöhle.

A big MERCI to the Räuberhöhle crew for inviting me to play, to the dancers who came inside even though the sun was shining, to the Leipzig Schuschels who supported me all the way, to Steffi who braved the masses to hear me play, my dear friends who showed up on the dancefloor and all the people who followed me on this music journey.

Caleesi @ Fusion Festival 2016 I Räuberhöhle

Thugfucker is Greg Oreck & Holmar Filipsson. A couple of residents of this planet that have dedicated themselves to the debaucherous worship of all good things that can happen in a dark crowded room with good lightning.

On Friday night this unique duo played one of the most incredible and sophisticated sets heard on the Mayan Warrior, watching all of the beats synced with the Sonic Runway made a big highlight of our burn.

Thugfucker - Mayan Warrior - Friday Night - Burning Man - 2016

Mezcal Amores was so much more than just a gig for @caleesi and me. It was a really special experience that took place in beautiful Oaxaca, Mexico in the ruins of an old building, amongst candles and flower blossoms and amazing people who really understood our music. We couldn’t have asked for a better atmosphere and are so lucky to have been able to play our sound in such a perfect environment. Thank you so much to Deborah, Marie-Lison, Marty, Carla, Mira and Santiago for everything. We’re so grateful to have been part of this unique experience!

Thugfucker live from Robot Heart - Burning Man 2012

Mel, known as Mae Thorne is a South African-born DJ and music producer based in Washington, D.C. Known for her ability to curate musical journeys, she is known to deliver powerful and punchy melodic house and techno blended with edgy, playful indie dance and deep, soulful melodies. Rooted in the sounds of the 80s and 90s alternative rock she grew up with, Mae Thorne infuses her music with an emotive depth and raw energy that reflect her diverse influences.
What began as a passion for bringing joy to the dancefloor, naturally evolved into a drive to create her own productions. In 2024 she played her debut track, followed by collaborative
singles in late 2024 and mid-2025, marking the start of a growing catalog of original work.
Mae Thorne also embraces her alter ego, “Bad Bitch” first born during her DJ debut in 2021. This persona embodies her ethos of empowerment, reminding audiences to channel their
inner boldness, pursue their dreams fearlessly, and celebrate individuality both on and off the dancefloor
