This City Called Earth is an experimental project

Drew Fitchette is a solo guitarist informed by random bits found throughout daily life, creating compositions as amalgams of melodic ideas and feelings that seem to fit together to paint broader pictures. Although his works may contain specific motivations - drawing inspiration from primitive guitar, classical composition, and math rock - Fitchette hopes listeners find their own conclusions within them. 

Fitchette grew up in the Pacific Northwest as a founding member of bands Rooftops and Detlef, as well as playing guitar in a variety of bands like Valley Maker and Rainwater. Though he recently relocated to Atlanta, GA, Fitchette’s music will always be tied to the place where he found his footing as a songwriter. Throughout his time collaborating with others there were always works that seemed to exist outside of the projects he was involved in. The need for these songs to have an outlet has led Fitchette to start putting together collections that represent eras of his life and the lives of those closest to him. Whether songs for the people he’s lost, or lullabies for the children of his closest friends, Fitchette will continue writing so long as life continues to give him reasons to.
