This is the first single “Nimm Mini Hand” from the upcoming new album “Let Love Rumpel (Part 1)” by Kalabrese.
In the middle of the Pandemic Kalabrese finds his way back to ease, regaining the Rumpelfunk and finalized a new album. „Let Love Rumpel (Part 1)“ is a marvelously light, warm dance. The music goes to the hip and to the heart and automatically we start to dance. From the very first bars it’s clear, that Kalabrese developed his very own signature sound which feels like coming home and diving into the Rumpel universe again. Not to be missed, there is underton of sadness; delightfully melancholic.

“Nimm Mini Hand“ is the first lead single and marks the album campaign kick-off. It’s accompanied by a beautiful video:

The song is a ray of hope in the blurryness and uncertainity of the pandemic. There’s a big desire to escape, to turn towards the beautiful things again. Kalabrese’s Rumpelorchester gently strolls off beat through lush and densely flourished city gardens. Kalaspatz’s hopeful lyrics which become totally cute, interplaying in sync with singer Palma Ada. Where although the song is starting out quite blurry, it’s building and progressing into a sunset feeling. A bittersweet cello and a warm brass section in great company on top. An elegant Rumpel-Dance on its way.

Nimm Mini Hand is a collective work with the Rumpelorchester, that has its beginnings on one afternoon. A cozy, slow and sexy groove, that flows together into a song, which picks up pace more and more to the ending. Kalabrese wrote a text about finding a way around in a world that is increasingly dominated by tensions and trench warfare and a personal way out: if you build your own oasis with friends, you will find peace and harmony for new projects. Palma Ada doubles Kalabrese in the verses. Tillmann Ostendarp drums the hypnotic off-beat with Dominik Löhrer’s tom-sound. Marton Dobozi delivers the grumpy guitar chords. And the “renaissance man” Balint Dobozi has found the desired melody and the funky chords on the Jupiter 6, which take us on a floaty journey.

As we welcome another talented artist to our family we asked Viken about the first part of a two part release and he told us...

"it's really important to understand that this EP is a series of pictures telling a story. Combining the names of all the tracks one gets this interesting and dreamy sentence,'On A Blue Road - A White Shadow - Feels The Winter'.To translate these pictures into music, I needed a very particular sound. Since I am a huge fan of Jazz music I took one of my favorite records, used a lot of samples and reworked them in my own way. From the technical aspect, I decided to reconnect with my first love: analog machines. I love working with sound textures. I stayed away from my laptop and all my VST/Plugins as I felt the need to compose these tracks in an unusual way: I wanted the sound to be really pure. That's the reason why this process was so essential for me. For me, this EP is the first one to sound like this".

This is the first of two releases from a deeply talented soul. A patient collage of house, jazz, acid squiggles and deep emotion. Played and loved all summer long by Lee Burridge at All Day I Dream, these tracks will stay with you through winter and into next summer.

"Nick Cave said music should be a vehicle” says Phil Kieran, “a thing you can put yourself inside, to be taken on a journey; to let your own imagination create the connection between life experience and the sounds you hear".

Kieran has been one of Ireland’s best producers for almost two decades, and when he spoke with Maeve about an album he’d been working on, he sounded a note of caution that, maybe, well, it wasn’t the sort of thing Maeve would like. If this was a shameless attempt at reverse psychology, it worked. Interest was piqued, the conversation continued, and the result was an enchanting, hypnotic album unlike anything heard from Phil, or anyone, before. That album was Life Cycling and it was quickly agreed that this would be the perfect record to serve as Maeve’s first full-length artist release.

In a world where everything is speeding up, Life Cycling slows things down, a painterly mosaic of the artist’s life, a vehicle into which he has placed his own experiences. Drawing in references as broad as Kraftwerk, Popol Vuh, even Bach, It’s a paean to the organic and human, drawn through the hum and whirl of machines and it taps a greater personal resonance for Kieran himself.

“It’s not easy to work out who you are deep down” he says, “never mind what that might sound like. For the last few years, I have truly been making music that is just me. I have collected all these experiences along the way and find I have finally got to a point I can describe a feeling I have inside; to look for that vibration that really resonates with me, to create it. Life Cycling is a vehicle, and place you can put yourself”.
