The second Edition of the Compilation features tracks from Caldera, Freund der Familie, Gathaspar and Front Left. The A-Side focusses on Dub-House. Calderas Track ‚30 Friends‘ gets a smooth yet groovy vibe across. Freund der Familie contributes a hypnotic production, which would suit well incorporated in a warm up or on the home speakers.
The flip side goes deeper into the minimalistic region of electronic music. Gathaspar has produced a trippy journey, featuring the vocals of Anna Partini. One for the morning hours on the dance floor. Front Left praises the groove with his track ‚AM3N‘. Very playful and delicate and a lovely selection of percussion. Do not miss!

Lost In the Archives Vol. 1 - Rob Pearson

Ecstatic to have UK tech house royalty Rob Pearson to introduce new sub label ‘Lost In The Archives’ to the Helix discography. 

With the focus of unearthing lost music from the prime years of tech house; Rob has blessed us with 4 tracks from an archived DAT that slipped through the cracks in the 2000’s.

All 4 tracks were originally produced between 2005-2009 using an Akai s6000, tr808 & 909, Juno 6 and a Roland SH-101 at Online Studios in South London. The tracks were then mastered by Rob in 2024 after we got in contact and shared our vision for ‘Lost In The Archives’.

The Evasive Records boss has racked up over two decades worth of releases on esteemed labels Wiggle, Fabric, Plastic City and Swag Records to name a few and shows no signs of slowing down with an album locked in for late 2024.

Fabio Biancu aka Cluster B was born as a regular visitor to the biggest clubs on the Turin and European scene. He cultivates his passion between London and Ibiza, where he lives for a few years, participating as a guest in numerous local clubs and after parties.
In November 2019 he created Borderline Record Shop, a record shop specializing in electronic music, a musical reference point for all DJs and fans of electronic music on vinyl and a meeting point between the various artists of the Turin and non-Turin scene.
In fact, Cluster B provides a nice mix strictly in vinyl that ranges from electronic, to house and break, which really make you want to run quickly to the nearest club to dance properly!
He embarked on a production project that is still evolving today.

Sailing through the vast labyrinth of the underworld and past the glacial rocks,  his victory over the Sirens was a distant memory. A story to tell around campfires when he was to return home. After some hours, a luminous green guided Orpheus into the terrifying chasm for which he sought. He was met by Hades's machiavellian smile who knew he would come for his wife but had no intention of giving her up.

Suddenly, Orpheus brandished his golden lyre and enraptured Hades with a melody so beautiful it could end wars. Orpheus's wife would be returned to him but on one condition: He may not lay eyes on her until they leave the underworld. Being the great traveler that Orpheus was, he accepted these conditions without hesitation and set off with his wife by his side.

Hours turned to days, and he could not find the glacial rocks that marked his way, and Hades's wicked laugh sounded in the deep. Days would turn into weeks, and weeks months, and soon it became clear that he would spend the rest of eternity wandering the underworld with his wife so close, yet so far.

Mike Wallis is a South African creative with house music as his round the clock soundtrack. As a music journalist he has a keen ear for unearthing hidden stories and regularly contributes to platforms like Red Bull Music, as well as running his own locally focused platform www.deepstreet.co.za. His selections as a DJ lean towards deep and soulful, a sound he grew up with in his hometown of Pretoria, but further encompass sounds of ambient, afro, dub, melodic, indie dance and anywhere in between.

This mix is a movement from some of the deeper sides of Mike Wallis's taste, to the more indie dance, disco orientated styles his palette is growing into. A mixture of South African and European tastes & flavours.
