Once upon a time there were two wandering boys who felt like they had something special to say. Iranian by birth, Canadian by upbringing, they’ve had the urge to create their own bridge between these two worlds ever since they could remember. Equipped with nothing but their passion and love, they stormed the electronic music scene in Vancouver as DJs for more than 5 years. Now their story takes them to Berlin as a new chapter begins. 

Their names are Behnam & Mehran and together they are Madota.

New year, new VWLS! Yes, we've made it to 2018, a year futuristic in tone that marks half a decade since we first arrived on the scene. The world has obviously become a very different place since 2013, but mercifully enough, the music has stayed incredible, and the dancers are still dancing.

To kick off what's sure to be a rollercoaster twelve months, our NVWLS Guestmix Series returns, and has reached perhaps the biggest milestone of its colourful life. They say life begins at thirty, and if this latest installment is anything to go by, there's plenty of vitality in the old girl yet.

For Guestmix #30, we've enlisted the services of a good friend of ours - the mighty Dean Mir, better know as one of the minds behind our beloved Bloop Radio. Besides running a global music platform with residencies from Alex Arnout, Casino Times, previous contributor Lárus, and our fine selves, Dean is also an accomplished DJ and selector - as his slamming submission for us will no doubt testify.

His love for groovy Afro-House and Melodic Techno sounds knows no bounds and all that love can best be found in the music he makes and releases on such labels as "Stil vor Talent" from Berlin, "Get Physical" and the number 1 Afro-House Label "MoBlack Records". He plays gigs worldwide with well-known names of the scene and founded his own label "Point House Records".

NJT is a house and techno DJ and music producer originally from Olsztyn in Poland now based in Southampton, UK. 
He had several influences, including his father, who was a drummer, and early exposure to excessive amounts of music in his dad's collection, led him to play guitar in a punk band he formed with his friends. This influence has brought him such a variety in music taste. Since arriving in the UK back in 2006 he has started to explore his music passion and played at numerous venues around the South Coast including Switch Bunker, Rebel, Mono, The Orange Rooms, White House, Voodoo Lounge, Aura, Sobar, Twisted Garden Party, Gabe Fest 7 festival, Indigenous festival, Club V, Shack Bar to name a few. He co-runs few of Southampton party brands in various music styles like: Twisted, Neurosis Techno, Under Current collective, NuSpectrum, The RoomSessions Southampton. He assisted in building the live streaming media platform Goat Shed.
