We're kicking-off Christmas week with a fresh and festive Prosecco on Ice, brought to you by Carla Durisch, a selector from Zurich with an incredible flair to create high energy dancefloor vibes.

Carla, who grew up in Zurich and got influenced by the big electronic scene in the biggest Swiss city, first started her DJ career spinning hip hop and urban tunes. 

The transition back to electronic music started while she lived in Berlin. Her sets became more and more house based and she also switched her DJ name to Carla Durisch, her real name. One could say as a step towards a real recognition, self-love and acceptance for the individual and personaI have become.  

Meanwhile Carla has established herself well in the Swiss clubbing scene and is part of impressive lineups at famous venues like Basel's Nordstern or Hive in Zurich.

Prosecco On Ice | Carla Durisch

No matter if playing live or compiling a mix, Floloco, or Florian with his real name, strives to create something whole. The result is hard to pigeonhole as he moves across genres although never losing his signature theme: an intense ride through electronic music; cinematic, dramatic, yet never missing that particular groove. 

The electronic music enthusiasts has his own show “Sonorous” on Frisky radio and runs Schirmchendrink, the globally regarded brand with delicious “cocktails” of underground electronic music (and, admittedly, an incredibly hard-to-pronounce name). The original concept just celebrated its 200th episode anniversary past December. 

Together with his good friend, Benoit, Florian is further part of the deep electronica duo Gimérique. After founding Schirmchendrink together in 2016, they today work in tandem to bring dreamy electronic music into the air with releases on labels such as Sound Avenue or Harabe Recordings.

"Thank you so much for the invitation to be part of One Night Only event. It was an honor and a pleasure to contribute to such a memorable evening. I must admit, I felt a bit of pressure on warm up duties, but it pushed me to craft a set that I hope resonated with the audience. Drawing inspiration from the unique soundscape of the night, I focused on creating an atmosphere with fat basslines and darker tones, all while keeping the essential tambors that are always present in my sets. My goal was to maintain a sense of movement and ensure everyone could still feel the rhythm, setting the stage for the melodic techno journey that Dom so masterfully led. A few words from the artist:

"As kid of the 80s I have a couple decades of experience in electronic music. No matter if playing live or compiling a mix, for me it’s all about creating an experience. Some call it storytelling, a journey. I think, this is just what DJ’ing should be about.

I don’t care about release dates or genres – often spending hours, days or even weeks for the track selection, it just must fit together. Making a mix is more like producing one, over-length track for me, always striving to create something “complete”. The result is not easy to pigeonhole since I like to move across genres. I like to build up the vibe and then releasing towards the end of a set. If you feel it, my mission is accomplished!

Electronic music is my passion and a welcome contrast to the daily office routine. Aiming to spread the music I love also led to my other baby, the @schirmchendrink collective, the one with the tasty cocktails and an incredibly hard-to-pronounce name."
