It's taken us a little while to fully process what happened on Sunday but now we've had the time to recover from the madness that is Fusion Festival (you too, we hope??) we're realising just how much this gig meant to us and how happy we are with how it all went. Thank you to everyone who was there, who waited the extra 40 minutes while we battled with some technical difficulties, who cheered, sang our lyrics (wait, what?!) and danced with us. You were so supportive and after the first couple of songs the nervousness was almost gone and we could just enjoy sharing what we love together with you all. THANK YOU! You peeps are just great. <3

So, without further ado, here's our live set on the Velvet Soup stage at Fusion on Sunday night. Unfortunately the quality of the recording isn't great (where's the bass?!?), and we actually had to re-record a couple of parts at home due to an issue with the accordion microphone picking up the sound coming from the speakers, but we tried our best to play it exactly like we did on the night and blend it in smoothly with the original recording.  We are proud and happy and we hope you like it!

"das lateinische wort alucinari bedeutet „im geiste wandern“ - nicht dass ich latein könnte, ich habe das bloß abgeschrieben. aber im grunde geht es in diesem set genau darum. hypnotisch nach vorne stolpern, beginnend im städtischen raum und dann irgendwie versuchen dahin zu kommen, wo wir uns nicht auskennen und niemanden mehr verstehen. das licht verändert sich, das grün wird satter, die wolken schieben sich den berg hinauf und wir werden ruhiger.

Vor ziemlich genau einem Jahr spielten Camilla und Anna bei der selben Hausparty. Danach fragte Camilla Anna, ob sie Lust hätte, mal zusammen aufzulegen und ihr ein paar Dinge zu zeigen. Was könnte Anna ihr wohl noch beibringen dachte sie und zögerte, hatte sie oft selber das Gefühl, sie müsse noch so viel lernen. Doch dann sagte sie zu, weil sie genau wusste, wie es sich anfühlte, noch so viele Fragen zu haben, doch manchmal nicht den Raum, um diese zu stellen. Weil sie das Gefühl kannte, sich nach dieser Verbindung zu sehnen und dabei die gleiche musikalische Leidenschaft zu verspüren. 

Und so trafen sie sich und tauschten sich aus, teilten Erfahrungen und fühlten gemeinsam die Musik. Verbindung. Das, worum es bei all dem hier doch eigentlich geht. Gemeinsame Sache machen, sich gegenseitig den Rücken frei halten und neue Erinnerungen schaffen. Geimeinsam fühlen. 

Ein Jahr später standen die beiden nun gemeinsam hinter den Decks als Freundinnen und spielten die Musik, die sie beide so sehr lieben und die sie verbindet. 

Danke an @planet-disbluthek, dass ihr sowas möglich macht, Raum für Verbindung und Freundschaften schafft und kluge und starke Frauen zusammenbringt und über Zyklus, Menstruation und verbundene Erkrankungen aufklärt. Manchmal wirkt das alles so klein, aber eigentlich ist das was ziemlich Großes <3

Hey everyone! Here's the recording of our DJ set at Rebellion der Träumer*'s party in Kater last weekend. We really enjoyed having 3 hours to work our way through several different styles that we're feeling right now. Sometimes a bit deeper, sometimes a bit higher energy, sometimes a bit groovier, but always with the lovely synths and vocals you have probably come to expect from us now!

We had so much fun playing this set so hope you enjoy it too! 

P.S. sorry for the excessive crunch on the filter towards the end of the set, it's way more audible in the recording than it was in the club! But hey, who doesn't enjoy a good distorted snare drum :)

Sol Selectas presents a downtempo organic house album by Adam Alydrus who's a multi-instrumentalist that also builds, designs and creates his own instruments.
Hailing from Indonesia, Adam Alydrus conceptualised the Indulung, which is an instrument of his own creation. It's an electric string instrument that looks similar to a small guitar, and its unique sound has elements reminiscent of the Moroccan gembri, tar, saz, harp, melodica, and sape, amongst others.
Indulung's sound is both unique and familiar, meaning its use adds to the warmth and vibrancy of this 9-track album. The album also includes other instruments such as the Seljefløyte and Koncovka, which are both European overtone flutes, and there is also some live organic percussion played by Adam Alydrus.
Not only is this Adam Alydrus' debut album, but it's also his first ever release, making it twice as exciting. Sabo, the Sol Selectas owner, discovered Adam Alydrus when he was performing live at the Bali Spirit Festival. Sabo instantly fell in love with his music, and reached out to discuss signing some tracks to Sol Selectas. After some fruitful discussions, there was such a wealth of music that an album seemed the only logical choice.
The album is a rich tapestry of sounds and textures, weaving electronic drums and synthesisers with Adam Alydrus hand played musicianship. It's a downtempo release that explores moods, tempos and atmosphere within its 9 magnificent tracks.
The cover art by Helia Jamali reflects Adam's musical journey, the bridge between the roots of his native Borneo, Indonesia, to his current home in Ubud Bali, where this project was born. The beauty of nature is the language of the passage, an ancient future, where every line carries endless messages.

Yaka slips into the APPX: catalogue a hi-def 8 part narrative. Coated in silky sonic camouflage the Philadelphian sound designer, producer, and apparent amphibophile, conjures an aquatic instrument-rack straight out the estuary, and re-engineers it into a kind of amphibient-bass eco-system: part poolside bio-luminescence, part Severn-side subsidence. Welling with emotion ‘Dream Big’ is a joyride with your favourite frog-sage homies. It's devotional, yes, but with a wink. Orchestrated by a bayou-mystic who’s just as likely to kiss the ring-modulator as they is to throw a shaka from his boogie board as they carves a line down stream.

The opening track “chrysalis of peace” builds like a choral summoning, beckoning you outward. “blubstep” shakes itself off and stretches into scattered breaks, sprinkles of underworld energy flickering beneath the surface. On “la pari,” the daemons find their stride in a huge leap into bass, punctuated by vocal satire, kitschy melodic fun, and an Amazonian sweat capable of humidifying any dancefloor. “miss that beach” slows the A-side into a thoughtful drift on a lilo, the distant sounds of cousins playing while wind lifts leaves overhead.

Flipping the disc, “buggged” arrives as a beat you can imagine bounding out of a Timbaland studio, tiptoeing in and out of 4/4 club jack. “back at the pad” breaks stride with a halftime depth that keeps you poised, like the surface tension of a water droplet in zero gravity. “weavin’ web” threads ascending melodic patterns over raised nodules of rhythm. Closing the album, “secret dream” dissolves into a private horizon — something half-remembered, half-invented — left for the listener to discover on their own.
