Welcome back to the Magician On Duty Journey Series!

On this edition we welcome JOIA (@joia-music)

During the last seven years Leipzig-based Hannes has been touring around Europe and beyond, playing countless DJ sets at renowned clubs and festivals under different monikers.

He's made a name for himself as Nikolas Noam and with his techno project GYRL which has shaped down-tempo club music for years to come.

Under his JOIA persona he is continuing this legacy, albeit with a more musical edge to his productions and a simplified approach.
JOIA is happy when he can make beats and work on harmonies at home in his studio, because that's where he's most comfortable.

When he's out playing DJ sets, however, he's known to gather large crowds with bass-heavy downbeats delivered against a melancholic and harmonic backdrop.

With JOIA Hannes is always trying to stick to what's most important in any from of art - a simple idea, well executed.

I had the incredible honor to play at the Spirit Space at Mystic Creatures Festival. What a wonderful experience to play music in this safe and slow space. Could have not imagined a more beautiful setting for this journey around 85 BPM. Thanks to all those beautiful souls that showed up to dance, chill, rest, dream or drift. Thank you to @truenaturemusic who played a wonderful set before me, thanks to all my loved ones that made the long journey by train and bus from Zurich to the festival!
