Music, when created correctly has the power to separate you from reality; it is a rare power that brings infinite joy to others. Borak holds that power. This artist’s deep and eclectic style creates energetic sets that offer not only an experience for your ears, but also for your body and mind. 

In Borak’s music you’ll hear the influence of his travels to Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. His influence also comes from his early days in music when he played as lead guitarist in rock bands and as well as the time he spent as a radio host and DJ at Turkey’s Power FM.

Over the years his style has grown into a force that brings together tribal drums, distinctive vocals, emotional Eastern ballads, and dynamic bass frequencies to share with people all over the world. 

The DJ career that started in Turkey took Borak across Europe and to Los Angeles where he has played on stage at some of the top festivals in the world including Burning Man.

The community that Borak has created with his music is the fire that ignites his musical spirit as he continues to grow in the United States and beyond.

Today we embark on a special journey with our dear friend Amer from Old City. Old City has been close to Amaya since the very beginning and we have enjoyed our relationship for a number of years. We are so happy to have you today sharing this beautiful and eclectic mix, perfectly balanced and mixed. It truly shows how deep and thoughtful Old City's musical storytellings evolve. 
As usual we get to know more about Old City in our interview at the end.

"While creating a set, I process a lot of what I go through and make sense of my journey by drawing meaning from the stories that reveal themselves. What is this song about? What does it make me feel? Is there a story that I can draw an emotional attachment from? A lot of realizations have come about this past year as I ask myself these questions. The deeper question being masked by that is really: how am i feeling today? Through that constant self assessment, I get to know myself a little better, peel the layers and understand what each phase means to me. I get to know myself best when I’m creating. Through music, through starting to explore photography and through writing, I’m expanding the channels in which I can absorb, process, learn and then share. Old City is my attempt at doing so. 

As many people already know, I started playing alone for over a year now without the partner that I started this all with - a gap that has forced me to ask myself endless questions and go through a lot of internal growth. I have a lot of emotions towards having to fill that gap and losing a partner in this journey, but every “positive” or “negative” experience exists to teach us something. We ask ourselves the hardest questions when it’s a “negative” experience, and sometimes can go a little less self aware when we’re on that “positive” momentum. I went in a different direction musically and used it as an opportunity to self discover, experiment and increase my range. I played disco, house, minimal, acid jazz, blues, afro funk, progressive house. All blended in a way that felt unique to my taste and felt right to the ambience of where I was playing. But I perhaps also escaped what reminded me of the original essence of why Old City came to be and I continued to distract myself away from the hardest question.

This set for Amaya’s radio show is my deepest and most personal, emotional reflection and I want it to tell you what I love, what I truly care about, and what I am starting to understand Old City to be, authentically me. Some elements, particularly the important message during the closing of this set was something very special I wanted to share during my sunset time slot on the Maxa Art Car at Burning Man this year, but that set was cancelled last minute and I was left heartbroken that I couldn’t share that message then and there. But naturally I immediately knew this radio show with Amaya was the right home for it. There is a 45 mins interview at the end that I shed a bit of light on this as well and a first open heart discussion about my story and beliefs. Today we welcome Guzy to the Schirmchendrink bartender team. Based in Marburg, Germany, he is full of passion for deep and progressive house.  
 
Part of Bunkermusik (Germany) and Kemistrybookings (Beirut/Marrakech) he played in venues across Germany, Switzerland and Lebanon.  
Further and in collaboration with Foreign Guest he just released his first track on the Morva EP, which came out on Underyourskin Records.

Crypticz is proud to present his new EP, PATTERNS. An exploration of personal themes and questions presented in a distinct UK nature, with the sound system very much at the root. Crypticz draws from every corner of his sound palette on this release, from dubbed out meditation on 'Fountain Light', futuristic Grime/Footwork fusion on 'Pathfinder Riddim', to Drum & Bass and Jungle deconstruction with 'Echoes Past (What I Am)'. 
PATTERNS EP follows on from appearances on Om Unit's Cosmic Bridge imprint, however this time around Crypticz ventures away from the standard approach of working with a label and has taken the release process into his own hands. He states: 'I've had the absolute privelage to work with some of the best labels in the game, and will continue to do so. However I write such a high amount of music I wanted to find an avenue to share more of myself. It takes a lot of courage but I feel one of artists primary duties is to release their work into the world to continue to help, feed and inspire others.' 
PATTERNS EP is available to buy only direct from the artist, exclusivley via Bandcamp. A handful of limited edition products have been created with collectors in mind... A run of only 30 12" records, all on white label, individually stamped and numbered. Limited edition A4 posters and CDs have also been made available. The CDs are individually assembled and feature two bonus tracks, a remastered version of 2017's 'Mariana' plus an alternate mix of 'Pathfinder Riddim' . In Crypticz own words: 'Taking this approach to the release is an experiment with the intention to be more direct with my current fans and listeners. There are a multitude of platforms I normally reach with a typical release, I will be missing those this time around but this record is to reward the people on the journey with me already. I've had complete control over the process from start to finish... Physical product has become an important part of releasing music for me, especially as a collector myself. With this EP I've been able to add my own contribution for the collectors, something I hope lasts as a little gem in your own collections to enjoy for years to come. However, to avoid neglecting listeners of all kinds or those that miss out I'll be making the digital download available directly from myself on Bandcamp and additionally will make the EP available on some streaming platforms.'

First remix release on the new Music.Art.Ppl label. It's a remix of R&B artist JSP's debut single “Don’t Worry”. The MAP collective fell in love with the track as it has a strong mental health message behind it which resonated with the crew in a big way.
This remix took an already great R&B track and gave it a groovy house bounce. Lyrically there is a strong focus on empowering one’s self with community and letting go of the superficial. Sonically, Tmorr, JFUN & Pithra spice it up with some Deep Bass, Rolling Drums and Synth chops which channel artists such as POMO and Kaytranada. The track is also a debut for the label Music.Art.Ppl which has folks excited locally and internationally.
