Beat & Path have spent two years nurturing talent, throwing their weight behind albums from Sanoi and The Oddness and tracking Uone and Western's treks into gold-rush territory. But it's been 28 months since their last VA release, and Camp Out 001 provides the variety that was set up in 2020's Winter Sampler.

There's an eclectic range of tempos and romp factor here; this compilation being as much about dancing under trees as lying in a fireside cuddle puddle while someone plays amateur astronomer. 

The compilation's midpoint is an undeniable stomper combining everything you could want from a Uone and Out of Sorts collab: shakers pulling you straight onto the dancefloor, tryptamine vocal processing, and an edgy spoken word snippet courtesy of the late Reverend Jim Jones. 'Ba Ba Ooh' plays to its collaborators' strengths, uniting Out of Sorts' grinding Teutonic production with Uone's jester mentality. The result is something that'll be damn-near irresistible at one in the morning.

🎵 The Of Memory EP from bīsu contains two Tracks. The title track is a mellow downsnappy banger that exudes an atmosphere of enjoyment. A vocal wispers the audience into a deep relaxation mode. 
„Jonathan“, the second song, is a feature and was made together with dalié. Smooth synths in form of exciting melody patterns interact with her unique voice and create an enthusiastic feeling of joy. Embedded in rhythmic percussion, the result is a coherent overall picture that will stay in Memory, just like the entire EP.

A year on since the drop of their latest EP featuring Vincent Marlice, Berlin-based duo Acado reemerges on A Tribe Called Kotori with their anticipated new EP, 'Pathfinder'. True to their hedonistically all-embracing signature, meshing fragments of folk-infused techno and house, electro-acoustic bravura, Afro-funk-y swing and oriental mysticism, the pair shows off the width of their talents yet again. Soaked in a straight out balearic kind of ambience with its languid guitar riffs and coastal vibes pouring on a drip-tease flex, 'I Walk' melds a sense of Latin sensuality with a hi-tech feel to perfection, enticing us into a slo-burning dance around the bonfire. In the hands of Ausserdem und Ueberhaupt, the track reveals a further woozy affair at first, extrapolating the original's already dreamy character, then shifting gears and inoculating it with an extra dose of rugged machinic uproar and bassy horsepower for optimal floor-destroying effect. Recorded in collaboration with Hindustani folk singer Bawari Basanti, 'Payalia' bridges the gap between a surgical 4x4 engineering and traditional Indian music, framing Basanti's fervent vocals in a vivid and lush, cross-cultural electronic tableau, unfolding its sitar motifs and raucous bass moves with acute panache and haunting soulfulness.

Rabih Rizk is a Lebanese artist who blends dramatic percussion with mystical synths and soothing melodies to create tracks that are perfect for the dance floor. This is his second time releasing on Baikal Nomads and his music can also be heard on other scene-leading labels such as Magician On Duty, Heimlich Musik and Pipe & Pochet.

On remix duty, Dario Klein is an up-and-coming producer from Germany who is known for his synth laden style of organic deep house and releases on the likes of Ritter Butzke Records, Abracadabra Music and Bar 25.

Matija and Richard Elcox are a pair of German artists who regularly collaborate on tracks and remixes for labels such as Cosmic Awakenings, Shango Records, Kosa and Camel Riders. They are also talented solo producers who are well-known for their mystical sound that blends chugging grooves with psychedelic atmosphere.

"Baraka" is first of the two original tracks and it's downtempo with spiralling delays of trippy percussion and moody pads. The jerking percussion rhythms, stabbing synths and chanting vocals give a marching vibe to the groove.

"Come With Me" has jerking rhythms and quirky synth lines that layered with trippy vocal phrases, create a jovial groove, forming the foundation for mystic pads that add to the track's hallucinogenic atmosphere.

Dario Klein’s remix of "Baraka" lifts the tempo and adds new percussion to create a flowing groove orientated around the original's pads and trippy percussion. He also adds some sun-drenched guitar licks and pulsating acid bassline to make the track his own.

Matija and Richard Elcox's remix of "Come With Me" is a stripped back version built around the original's stabbing vocals with new percussion and a rubbery bassline.

After I started producing a year ago, the track Philou was the first one I made without a sample or anything else that already exists. I started producing not long before that thanks to DJ/producer Philou Louzolo, because I heard him tell in a podcast how he made one of his album tracks on a laptop at a bus stop. If that’s possible I thought, I might as well give it a go. As a tribute to that push in the right direction I named this track Philou. It comes with three remixes and is released by Nomadism on the 12th of May.
