A new artist to grace the Particles roster, Maximillian David Peter joins the growing ranks of dynamic and talented musicians with his Kerosino production soubriquet and an eponymously titled debut album.

Starting out at an early age as a DJ across his Karlsruhe hometown, the German artist found a connection with the raw emotion and seething dancefloor energy found in intimate club settings as well as the vast open spaces of festivals and raves. Turning this musical prowess behind the decks into technical knowhow and production craftsmanship within the studio, Kerosino has found a way to forge a white-hot steely passion into an unseen bond that connects club-goers with his distinctive and powerful music.

His 9-track "Kerosino" magnum opus is a sumptuous collection of synthesised analogue harmony, meticulous percussive verve and powerful rhythmic force. Opening proceedings, the beautiful arpeggiated layers of "Ayanga" and the interwoven patterns of "Luminga" scud across a club-friendly backdrop in silkily filtered fashion, creating cascading melodic patterns in their path. The Latin percussion and South American vibe of "Flamencano" creates a subtle urgency with its metallic rhythms and glissando synth lines, while a hypnotic melody repeats in effortless fashion.

"Jangul" continues the world-music theme with their African inspired rhythms and captivating toms, while syncopated melodies retain the Afro House vibe. A symbiotic relationship between bassline force and searing lead-line drama is in full evidence throughout "Nadu" and the atmospheric "Samintra", as delayed synth lines shoot across the mid-range in multiple layers while elemental energy courses through a rasping low-end. "Kukui" continues in similar vein as smooth motifs drift across the piece with timeless elegance while bassline presence is in full effect through subterranean swells.

Swirling warm conduits or airy synths drift over the intoxicating rhythms of "Kobayaho" in a deliciously creamy atmosphere before powerful bassline gravitas returns. Closing as it starts, "Raoz" exhibits a glorious array of melodies that coruscate over each other in unencumbered arpeggiated joy. Create a driving vitality atop heavy beat and rapid-fire organic percussion, the result is a rousing and dynamic finale with a subtle retro vibe.

Lighting a path to the future, Kerosino is on fire with his imaginative and vibrant debut album.

In mysterious ways, paths from the past sometimes cross once again, leading to wonderful outcomes. Such is the case here, as we are thrilled to welcome our longtime companion, Maxi aka Kerosino, to our label for his upcoming EP.

His dark, midtempo-leaning sound perfectly suits the gloomy season and had us convinced from the very first listen. The two original tracks are complemented by equally compelling remixes from Air Horse One, Richard Elcox, and Matija.

We're delighted that this release has come to fruition and hope you enjoy it thoroughly. As always, the artwork has been contributed by our graphic wizard, Kilian Van de Water.

What a festival, what a gig!! I'm not sure if I've ever had a gig nor a festival experience which was better than this one ❤️ Every year they managed to exceed my expectations, but this year was really something else... I was mind blown on so many levels with the upgrades and the depth of love which was tangible everywhere. As if the mystical island was not paradisiacal enough, the full moon, the rainbows and the moon eclipse in the last night really made it an unforgettable festival experience. 

I couldn't have wished for a better playtime than that Saturday night from 0:30 - 2:30 under the full moon. I was quite nervous, especially because I knew I was gonna play spontaneously for a big part of the set. But it was truly perfect... The long performance made it even more memorable. And by the end of it, the sky was completely clear. 

Thank you so SO much, Mystic Creatures! To everyone who made this festival possible, to the performers Katta and Eva who really gave so much energy to my set, to all the dancers, to the tears shed, to nature, to the Bahnwärter crew who built such a gorgeous stage and, of course, to the producers whose tracks I got to play! May this festival have a really long life 🫶🏼

Nach einer etwas längeren Pause in unserer Podcastreihe begrüßen wir heute Xia Ke aus Shanghai. Der sympathische Producer, DJ und Labelbetreiber mit dem Hang zu organischen Klängen im deepen Downtempogewand ist uns bereits vor einiger Zeit aufgefallen. Seine Mixe bestechen durch eine große Dichte an Atmosphäre, welche durch überwiegend cineastische Übergänge erzeugt wird. Quasi ein Sound der auch gut zu unserer Reihe passt. Ein wenig angepasst hat er diesen aber trotzdem. aber hört selber und findet den Unterschied. 

Tausend Dand Xia für diese feine Reise ins Dickicht der organischen Afterhour.

We noticed this likeable producer, DJ, and label owner with a penchant for organic sounds in deep downtempo guise some time ago. His mixes captivate with their dense atmosphere, which is created predominantly by cinematic transitions. It's a sound that fits well with our series. He has adapted it a little, though. But listen for yourself and see if you can spot the difference.

It's a set prepared for our upcoming label tour. I want to illustrate a more moody downtempo soundscape to the Chinese local audiences. There are also some great productions from my label Autumn Equinox.
