Giovanni Locapo Aka Gio Locapo was born in the south of Italy, in the inland of Apulia at the border with Lucania in the 1977. His first approach with music happens when he was about 16, while attending senior high school specializing in science education.  He begins with playing bass guitar and with some friends he starts an hard rock band. We are in the early 90's, this is a very important time for hard rock and electronic music, this is the time of Guns' n' Roses, of grunge, metal but also of Depeche Mode and the moment when the Dj and producer anglo-canadian Richie Hawtin  starts his career, a leading and important figure for the transformation of Gio from musician into dj and producer. Soon after graduating from High School he moved to the roman capital city to carry on as bass player for another local hard rock band. This experience will however ends in 2005 when he will move to Milan to study Sound Design at the European Institute of Design (Ied) where in 2008 he will graduate as Sound Designer. It's in these years in Milan that he will start his experience as Minimal Techno and Techno dj and producer with a more European approach than traditional, the Detroit one. So he starts playing local Clubs such as Sottomarino Giallo, Lime Light and  Magazzini Generali where he will play aside with famous Dj Claudio Coccoluto. In 2009 it will be a natural step for Gio to move in one of the most important world music capital: London ,Uk. In 2009 he starts a new project with a fello dj named Tony: Noi5e Pollution. They will play few clubs in the London underground scene such as: 1001, Russian Bar, Crucifix Lane, Basing House, Nomad and Trafic just to mention some of them. They also stars in a radio show every Friday for Optical Radio. In the summer of 2012 he moved to Ibiza for the clubs famous season and in September starts a partnership as Sound Designer with the anglo-italian project Artes Radio and also as dj for Artstep, the electronic show of Artes Radio. In the same month he moves to Amsterdam for a new adventure with his girlfriend, Van de April, a new member of the Noi5e Pollution project.

For clients such as Ferrari, Hugo Boss and Diesel, Jared not only curates music but creates soundtracks that represent brands. As a club DJ, Jared has toured in 20 countries on five continents alongside David Geutta, Deadmau5 and Erick Morillo.

He has produced tracks for Sony, BMG and The Universal Music Group.  Pete Tong said Jared’s “Tiny Dancer” remix was “an inspired moment in dance music that you can expect to hear on radio all day.” The song was in heavy rotation on radio stations worldwide and on MTV. Jared’s “You’re Not Alone” for Strictly Rhythm has been featured on the BBC Radio 1 in 2012 and it peaked at number one on the UK hype chart.

Jared has also produced music for national TV commercials (Miller Beer, Oil of Olay), created original soundtracks for designers during New York Fashion Week and recently returned to MTV and Viva in Germany in 2011 alongside Swedish House Mafia and David Guetta with his record “You Are.”

Jared is currently curating the music for The James Hotels and working on the launch of The James in Miami Beach. Based in New York City, Jared has a BA in comparative cultures.

Later in 2007, Jared's "Tiny Dancer Remix" [Universal Music Group] made its debut as the Essential New Tune on the BBC's Pete Tong show. It was heralded by Pete Tong as “an inspired moment in dance music that you can expect to hear on radio all day…” and you did.  "Tiny Dancer" is played in heavy rotation on radio stations worldwide and on MTV.

Another BBC Radio 1 Pete Tong pick, The Camel Rider & Mark Alston’s, “Addicted" featuring Mark Shine [Wasted Youth Music] was featured on the Future Music Festival 08 CD and is an international radio favorite.

A club smash in 2008, “Fall Down On Me” featuring SuSu Bobien was picked up early by Erick Morillo for Subliminal Sessions 12. "Get Together" by Jared and Mark Alston featuring Christina Lauren reached #1 on Xpressbeats, weeks before its' official launch and #7 on DJ Magazines “Dancefloor Destroyers” Top 50 Chart in 2009.

DJ Times magazine recently profiled “Jared’s Path to the Top.” With the launch of Camel Rider Music in 2010, the growing popularity of Jared’s weekly radio shows and podcasts and a succession of dance floor hits, the path is clear.
