PENGUIN PRISON RELEASES “SHOW ME THE WAY” (TAYLOR WISE REMIX)

New York-based producer/songwriter Penguin Prison (aka Chris Glover) has released the “Show Me The Way” Taylor Wise Remix.  “Show Me the Way” is the latest single co-written with DJ/producer RAC from his album Lost In New York 
The remix is taken from the Show Me the Way Remix EP to be released February 5 on Downtown Records.

New York newcomer Taylor Wise has been making quite the name for himself with his past four releases all taking the #1 spot on Hypem. He really has taken ‘feel good’ music to a whole new level with his indie-pop melodic sound. For his latest release, Taylor has kept "Show Me The Way's" original components the listeners love, but flipped them with his signature style to give the track a new vibe. 

"I had “Show Me The Way” on repeat when it first came out, so I jumped at the chance to remix the record. From the catchy vocals to bouncy guitar riffs, it's hard not to dance to. I wanted to keep most of the original elements but give the track a different feel. I had a lot of fun with this one.." - Taylor Wise

Some might remember The Planty Herbs from his earlier 7” outing on RNT, and now the dynamic Dutchman brings his dusty vibes to a 4-track EP of crafty edit selections. “Famyly” kicks of the pack with a bouncy funk groove, followed by “Errybodydisco,” a low-slung house party affair. On the flip we have the flute solo and sample-heavy Soundstream-esque stomper “Today,” while “What’s Inside” takes us back to the soul side with a boom-bappity cover of a 70s R&B classic.

Mon attention s'est portée rapidement sur le titre Nen Lambo de Bill Loko, que je revisite ici en version cosmic disco.

Suuuuuuuuuuper proud and happy to present you my next 12" via Lumberjacks in Hell that's out today!!! As maybe Mendel and Adrien will be able to testify I have been struggling with BROWN CURLS (performed by Khalil Anthony) for a couple of years, as I always had something that egged me about it. I dont see myself as a perfectionist but there is a certain line that mustn't be crossed . So it might come as no surprise that my favourite (released) version is actually not by myself but the restless genius Patchworks who transformed it into a perfect boogie bomb!!! Try it, it will work 100% !!!
But that's not even the title track! The EP is called IF YOU LIKE , hey? The track has been around just as long as the beginning of Brown Curls really and started as a remix, that morphed and morphed and morphed into what it is now, my take on a Afro-Boogie track. Thanks to everyone involved foremost Jan van Mastrigt on Bass, Derek van Beelen on Drums, Jair Wix on Guitar and Tim Jules on Keys.
Big shout and much love to Alma Negra for their epic remix!!! And big up to myself for my own remix featuring SENSATIONAL !!!! and Julien Dyne on additional drums !!!

British producer Aroop Roy (@aroop-roy) has arranged an official remaster and reissue of prolific Congolese talent Sammy Massamba's two tracks 'Azali' and 'Birika' on his own Vive La Musique imprint.

Ahead of the EP's release on August 19, Aroop Roy has handed over his edit of the lead single 'Azali' to Mixmag for a premiere. Taking the sweltering afrobeat epic and giving it a modern-club touch, Roy's extended rework of this feel-good West African staple is as infectious as they come.

The formidable Dirt Crew return with a second outing on the label from South East Londoner Dampé. His 'Garden EP’ is a more machine-led outing than his debut 'Peach Shuffle’, with six expertly crafted cuts aimed squarely at the dance-floor. '727 And Arp Breaks' is as you'd imagine an effectionate nod to two of Dampé's most loved studio tools. The TR-727 and an Arp Odyssey marry dubbed out stabs to some deeply, groovey rolling breaks. However this is not an empty club banger by any means; deftly played jazzy Rhodes keys add more than a touch of soul to the proceedings. Classy stuff.
