The 2nd Free Download to come from @strictly140. Building up to their debut 4 track E.P. which is being released in September, @strictly140 are releasing various free downloads celebrating both grime and dubstep. Following on from STRCTFD001 comes an artist that for us at @strictly140, bridges the gap between grime and dubstep perfectly. 

Rakjay (@rakjayuk) has created a unique sound to his music that is easily recognizable within today's grime and dubstep scene. He's had tunes played on Radio 1 Xtra, Radar Radio and Mode FM by DJs such as Spooky, Jack Dat, TMSV and many more. 

‘Leeway’ opens with an eerie intro, almost haunting, with a creeping bass that just gets darker and darker with every drop. His productions are always very clean-cut, minimal and dark. @Rakjayuk is definitely someone to watch out for in 2017. 

Look out for his track 'Ascendance' which is being released through @strictly140 on a grime instrumental compilation E.P. sometime in September.

Following on from STRCTFD003, we are showcasing a veteran producer in the grime scene from Cardiff, Dubzta (@dubzta-beats).  

For me personally I've always been a massive fan of Dubzta's sound. He's very versatile in the way he produces, however the dark, haunting brass tracks that he creates are simply perfect for me, and this one is exactly that. From the off this track goes in hard and just gets darker and darker with every brush of brass and flick of bass. A superb track from @dubzta-beats.

Having had releases on many many record labels (including Ghost House Records and Slimzos Recordings), we are really happy that Dubzta has chosen to get on board with us at @strictly140, we are all about pushing people's sound and pushing the scene in general to new heights.

We really hope we can work with Dubzta again in the near future, Respect.

I've had my eye on Jake bob for some time now. A DJ, Producer and MC from Leominster. His work-rate is exceptional both lacing vocals onto tunes and  producing tracks at an alarming rate. 'Like It Raw' is a tribute to the late, great Ol' Dirty Bastard. Its a fast, skippy refix and almost sounds like a jungle track at times, big big refix from Jakebob. He was featured in one of Magnetic Magazine's grime articles at the start of the year with his track badderz, make sure you go have a read and listen.

Look out for @strictly140's debut E.P. (STRCT001) [The Brass E.P.] featuring @rakjayuk - @filthy-gears - @creep-n00m and @joe-browne-1 (Riknor) being released mid-september, a 4 track grime instrumental E.P. where the theme of each track is dark brass. Soon come.

This ones an absolute percy, from start to finish its just pure vibes. The intro starts with a proper atmospheric feel. Then the female vocals groan into play with a dull, sluggish drum tap. Leading on from that some skippy jungle drums gear up, leading the way towards the drop. When it comes your still not quite ready for it. Low end sub bass reverberates out over the skippy drum beat. Massive release from @rarefied_uk.

We at @strictly140 like to try and shine light on relatively unknown artists with our free downloads, (as well as promote artists that have already solidified themselves deeply within the scene). We try and unearth new talent and showcase people that we think, in time will become household names within the scene. 

For a while now we've had our eye's on the european producer known as DMG. We first heard of him about 6 months ago with his remix of '19 kilos' by Sketta. It got a few radio plays and we decided to hit him up to see what other things he was working on. 

We heard this track being played on 'Rinse FM France' a few weeks ago and knew DMG had made something that was right up our street. Low sub bass shrouds the entire track whilst the famous Eski beat sound is heard over the top. Great experimental track this one. Look out for more from DMG in the future.
