For our inaugural voyage of “Name Dropping” our new electronic music industry podcast, we have Matt Colon from Deckstar Management. Colon has been in the electronic music industry since the early 00's and has never looked back. Starting off in street marketing for an indie dance music label to being the head of marketing for BPM Magazine and eventually sliding into his current gig as one of the head honchos at Deckstar Management and managing Steve Aoki.

The label has been incredibly influential in shaping the sound of modern electronic dance music and beyond.

Gary Richards' Renegade Tour at Beta Nightclub in Denver, Colorado, you know how hard he, ILoveMakonnen and Ganz went. Even though he wasn't on the bill for the launch date of the tour he still found his way behind the decks anyways, which sent a wave of excitement through the already hyphy crowd.

Shortly before that, though, Richards and ILoveMakonnen set aside some time to talk about their tour and music with me. Among other things, we discussed their thoughts on the rave scene and fad genres.

After two dates in Texas, Destructo and friends will find themselves in Vancouver, British Colombia on Thursday, the 22nd.
