Like the majority of the releases on @rocksteadydisco , this remix from @ladymonix is an understated production whose power lies in it's subtlety. Intricate by nature, the track builds upon itself effortlessly, constructing a sonic bridge between Detroit soul and NY garage house. The straightforward vocal samples fold unto themselves, leading to a track whose glorious power is wrought forth with candor.

Even though esteemed norwegian DJ Ole Martin Vilberg aka Omar V and Robin Craaford, one half of Dance Disorder with Baby G ( Bpitch, Eskimo ) are hardly young guns, they gang up together for the first time on "complete": a blinding cut that harks back to the time with good ol Jack was still the young buck and closely associated with uncle Electro Funk: tough beats, hyperactive claps, a jittering bass and a catchy, squeaking melody are still rattling bones if masterfully pieced together as it is done here. From time to time, a new name will appear on the scene with a unique, standout sound that commands people at all levels of the industry to sit up and take notice. Following two sold-out EPs on his vinyl-only imprint, Semi Delicious, UK producer Demi Riquísimo is one such example and on the 9th August he’ll be teaching another lesson on how to ignite the dancefloor with his third release of the year: 54 Reasons EP.

Another four-track, tour-de-force fusion of house, disco and electro, the 54 Reasons EP opens with ‘Bow UFO’ – an upbeat, percussive Disco-fused banger on which Demi gives us a taste of summer by bringing in synthy notes and adding an acidic edge to the track. A2’s ‘Anxious Elephants’ neatly follows on with its deeper, darker sonics, a groove-filled bassline and hypnotic lyrics, topped off with warm pads and soft flute instruments to perfectly balance things out. Flipping over the wax and you’ll find two more on-point cuts: ‘Point One’ delivers with its effortlessly rolling, Disco-tinged groove, as ’54 Reasons’ closes out the EP In a big way, leaving listeners with no questions regarding the enviable talent on display throughout Demi’s productions.

Demi Riquísimo returns to his Semi Delicious hand-stamped white label with another four impeccable disco fusion party tracks. Guitar lead ‘Shameless Progression’ follows skittering disco hats across a scape of lasers, a pulsing bassline and Italo synth business. ‘Encona’ is a summery re-edit of a foreign disco classic you'll no doubt recognise (shh..), Demi has added his naughty robotic FM bassline and some proper drum chunk to the mix, a tasteful re-hash right until the end.
