Em & Double-U - A BIRD IN THE VALLEY OF DEATH

Em & Double-U is a Polish-American darkwave band, formed online in 2019 by two childhood friends: Wojciech Makowski [a.k.a. Em] (vocals, synthesizers, samplers, programming) and Kamil Walczak [a.k.a. Double-U] (guitars, bass, drums, vocals, programming). In 1992-93, they were co-founders of the Polish coldwave band, A Herd Of The Rushing Vises, which broke up after recording a demo tape “The Bad Place” (1993). Since then, their musical paths have diverged to merge again during the Covid-19 pandemic due to their unwavering friendship and their intact passion for music. Since the very beginning, the band has been associated with the Metronome School of Music and Recording Studio in New York City. So far, they have released 4 full-length studio albums: "A Lethal Dose Of Sadness" (2002), "Beacon Of Hope" (2003), "Phantoms" (2004), and "Stolen Dreams" (2025). Presently, they are working intensively on their 5th album "Silent Suffering" (with original material from 2003). Wojciech Makowski is a prolific creator of piano and ambient music, while Kamil Walczak is an enthusiastic creator of gothic music.
