for the second time Ramona welcomes Orson Wells in her realm of pleasure. After the debut-EP titled 'Never Lonely No More' in 2013, the Frankfurt youngster manages to inflame Ramona's attention once again with his following futuristic dream-house-EP called 'Open Light'. Four tracks no one should miss out on having at home pressed on the darkest and lustiest of all the treats. Mister Wells invites Ramona on a trip to another dimension where the sounds of the past are the columns of a neo-transcendental audio-vision. In this future no one dances alone.

Longo's sample, is the closest example to a perfect loop that I can think of. There are very few grooves with such a strong combination of funk, power and shuffle.
Looping and filtering, mentioned all too often as an uncool and lazy way of making music, probably a result of the huge amount of bad releases that the techniques are associated with. This release in your hands is the first of a series paying tribute to the crate diggers whose samples and loops in my opinion, are milestones for house music and club culture. Loops that I never got tired of listening too, even for more than two decades in some cases. With the original compositions often sought after and repressed, here we're paying respect to original "sampling artist" rather than the "sampled artist", outrageous eh?

Gray has been making waves at Born On Road HQ since our 1st slightly bizarre meeting with him in a field in Winchester at a popular music festival in 2018. Though his roots run a lot deeper. He cut his teeth though the free party scene in his hometown of London proving he has the minerals whist effortlessly mixing between styles.

Since moving to Bristol he has fully submerged himself into the circuit growing ever popular amongst ravers who have taken to joining in with the infectious vocals of his newly acclaimed anthem ‘Rubadub’, just one of the tunes off this heavyweight EP that has been doing major damage over the summer and is already turning the heads of some of the big players in the scene and it’s sub genres!

Gray has also enrolled the talents of two veterans of the scene, The Ragga Twins drop the lead line on Blood, a hard hitting bass heavy tune.

This EP is rammed packed full of goodness and comes with our certified Born On Road dance floor seal of approval, we are super hyped to welcome Gray as a member of our ever expanding family and we all look forward to working with him more in the future.
