Voices from a Revolution is a music documentary that I wrote based on the ongoing #WomanLifeFreedom revolution in Iran. The voices used in this composition speak of death, injustice, corruption, hypocrisy, grief, anger, and suppression.
Enhanced by electronics, these voices were specifically selected and aligned in such a way so that they are in dialogue with each other as well as with the audience, calling those out who have remained silent and inviting them to join the revolution against the Islamic Republic regime’s forty-four years of human rights violations.

فریادش را به دستِ کوچه‌ها داد
صدایش مثلِ نیزه‌ای در باد
آتشفشانی‌ست از زاری
مادرِ دل‌خونِ محسنِ شکاری

امروز دوباره پاییزه
ذهنِ سبزِ درختان لبریزه
از خاطراتِ تابستان
از آن آفتابی که غروب نکرد

فریادش از اعماقِ زمین
تا قله‌هایِ تنها و غمگین
کوهستانی‌ست از درد
مادرِ دل‌خونِ مجیدرضا رهنورد

گفته بود که به مادر چیزی نگو
که زمان ایستاده نمی‌رود جلو
مادر اما شنید که عالمی
فریاد زد محمدمهدیِ کرمی

روزی عاقبت از این پاییز
ردِ پایی نمی‌بینی
مادری از آسمان نمی‌بارد
برایِ محمدِ حسینی
