Inspired by Japanese culture, the Terranova Records brand has put together the debut EP of their “The Five Elements, Godai 五大” series, including five tracks from various artists.

Each of the track is represented in the artwork as the Japanese “Gorinto” sculpture that nods towards a different element from the “Godai” (the great five): earth (chi), water (sui), fire (ka), wind (fu), and void (ku).

Featuring on the release is a stellar selection of artists, including Maicol Mp & Steedo, Hamoon & Amiralee working with Nima Sarshar once more, label regular U:ICHI, Canvi, and the prolific, Odagled.

The first element water (sui) comes from Maicol Mp & Steedo, and is titled “Al Playa” operates on a loungey groove, brushing past gently as you feel yourself transcending further and further from where you are listening. Creeping in the depths of mysterious waters.

Second element wind (fu) comes from “Windward”, another showcase of the incredible talent that Hamoon & Amiralee, and Nima Sarshar have in their hands. Pure emotion at the heart of the track, a hypnotic vocal sample teases you into the intelligently arranged drum work. Incredible melodies throughout.

Third element fire (ka), U:ICHI’s “Melting Kiss” sits more than comfortably on this VA. The dreamy break in the track is set to light up any dancefloor with joy and positive energy, a taste of spring for the months ahead.

Forth element void (ku) is represented on Canvi’s “Orbital Chant”, structured around crisp broken drums, giving it a distinct energy throughout. Innovative sounds, blurring the lines between genres, a certain habit of the label in recent times.

Last but not least, Fifth Element earth (chi), Odagled’s “Down To Earth” is the last of the elements this release covers. Quirky pads and synths move their way around a stripped back body of the track, chugging along blissfully in the darkness.

Terranova are quickly gaining the respect of tastemakers with each and every release, always looking to explore uncharted territory, continuously pushing a unique and inspiring sound that seems to be adored globally.

Maicol MP was born in 1991 in the province of Treviso. During his childhood he performed many activities in the field of music, including the study of the piano and the Sound Technician.
