Marie Schreer and John Garner formed Mainly Two in 2013 with a view to expanding the repertoire for two violins and bringing greater attention to an oft-neglected medium. They have since commissioned works by over twenty composers from across the globe, performed live at celebrated venues including Sage Gateshead and St David’s Hall Cardiff and toured internationally. Their two-part album Poetry / Synergy was independently released in November 2014 and re-released digitally on Turquoise Coconut in May 2016, followed some months later by an EP, Live at Listenpony. Their latest album, Squirrels in Matchboxes, was released in April 2020 and features new works by James Brady, Kate Williams and MT’s own John Garner, as well as improvisations by the duo. During the pandemic, Mainly Two released "World Tour", a YouTube series of short concerts featuring music new and old from across the globe and made their debut at the Newcastle Festival of Jazz and Improvised Music. Also enthusiastic educators, they have given workshops and masterclasses across the country including at Sage Gateshead and Glasgow University.

From the playful to the melancholic, the brutal to the plain silly, Mainly Two are rejuvenating the world of two violins, summoning a universe of colour from eight strings.

Mischa Tangian is a composer and violinist based in Berlin, Germany. A graduate of Robert Schumann Conservatory Düsseldorf and King's College London. Writes music for opera, orchestra, ballet, chamber music and arrangements for jazz and classical bands. Founder and artistic director of Babylon ORCHESTRA Berlin. His works have been performed at Deutsche Oper Berlin, State Opera Hannover, State Opera Hamburg, concert halls throughout Germany and Europe.

Elusive London-based collective EMANATA is the brainchild of  jazz violinist and composer John Garner. With a ‘no-second-wasted’ attitude, the material is created in the recording studio, laying down tunes before the buzz is gone. Improvisation and spontaneity are the foundations of this economical creative process, with a whirlpool of live sound design filling in the gaps. Whilst summoning up elements of hip-hop, jazz and ambient electronica, they give a firm salute to the sounds of tomorrow.

Henning Fuchs has scored more than 40 short films and documentaries. He assisted renowned composers and worked on more than 20 internationally acclaimed movies and tv-series. His songs and instrumental compositions have been nominated and awarded many times and embrace a wide range of styles and genres. Henning collaborates with various artists and produced 3 albums with his band sabanova.

For his current live project A NEW BEGINNING Henning formed a group of musicians, sound and visual artists.

From 2012–2016 Henning worked closely with Max Richter on all film, album and theatre related projects, including Wayne McGregor’s Woolf Works at the Royal Opera House London and the album Three Worlds.

Henning graduated as Diplom Film Composer from the Film University Babelsberg and got a  Bachelor of Arts with Honours, Class I, in Performing Arts (Music) at Sir Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.

Primarily a drummer and percussionist, lover of the vinyl format, the DJ and musician Flo Rosset has cut his teeth in London pubs and clubs in the last 15 years. Producer of his solo album 'Sands' as well as a few collaborative LPs, he continues to play his sunny DJ sets in the south of France. Percussive latin music, nu jazz tinted afrohouse and soulful electro are some of the eclectic sounds you'll hear from his turntables.

Northumbrian electro-folk musician and producer Frankie Archer has announced her new EP 'Pressure and Persuasion' and released new single "Barbara Allen" along with an entrancing accompanying video. New EP 'Pressure and Persuasion' will be released 4th October, arriving amidst dates this autumn supporting The Last Dinner Party (following a personal invitation from the band) - and a full UK headline tour of her own running through October and November.

Frankie Archer's new EP 'Pressure and Persuasion' tells the stories of four women and girls from centuries past who navigate the same expectations that are put on women today. It encompasses joy, bravery, defiance and helplessness, and challenges ideas about how womens’ stories are told and perceived.

New single and EP opener "Barbara Allen" is one of the most re-told songs in the English language. Frankie's spiralling interpretation - co-produced by Jim Moray - transcends expectations. "It's about a mean, cruel-hearted woman (irony there)," Frankie explains, continuing: "It’s 350+ years old but is dripping with the same expectation that’s laid onto women today."

Melding otherworldly electronic production that snaps and darts between the age-old prose, Frankie utilises harshly chopped and distorted fiddle, pitch-shifted vocals, swinging drum samples and a rich assemblage of analogue and digital synths, with her distinctive approach to folk storytelling opening up a new way of understanding the fabled tale.
