MA'AM (Anna Makay, Budapest, Hungary) is a vocalist, songwriter and an electronics producer. Her pieces focus on ancient languages ​​in the digital environment. She works in the area of ​​vocal improvisation, sound poetry, abstract electronics, avant-garde, noise and experimental.

From Budapest, Anna Makay, guide us to an intimate immersion within a universe with liturgical and ancestral codes, where a language isn't understood in its total form, but it opens the door to an experience and emotional charge. This EP sprouts a language that comes from the opposite direction - it invades our interior and blooms between our skin and organs creating a strange sensation. The boundary between dark and light is very thin, making us wonder whether or not the definition of a barrier or boundary really exists is a single liquid that extends from our birth to our death, a thread that wraps around of our body, whispering, screaming and moaning, with a soulful touch passively stirring the blood - disassociating the ontological understanding between light and its absence.

Ma’iwa - KIME (2022)

Ma’iwa is a collaboration between two Hungarian electronic musicians MA’AM & AIWA. After ‘Goldfishing’, their new album ‘KIME’s tracks  are pieces of sounds from a strange improvisation session with folk-like singing from different times, and rhythmic drones and utopian ambient.
The result is conceptual brainstorming of two experimenting minds in spoken word, dream noise, and various electronic genres – with many synthesizers.

Dalmata Daniel's 6th compilation is a salute to 'Akarat', a song by the Budapest-based band, Mayberian Sanskülotts. We heard this track for the first time when they released it on the Rakéta Demo (2013) compilation – a few years later they made a re-recording and put it on their Adlait (2016) studio album.
To celebrate the track's 10-year anniversary, we are happy to present the remixes and interpretations of ’Akarat’ by 10 international and local artists, all related to the Dalmata Daniel family in one way or another.

This composition was created as a result of a daily collection of sounds that Anna recorded during a demanding month. Working on a sound collage helped her to stay in the present.

Anna Ruth is a visionary ambient artist and talented flautist, known for her haunting melodies and flute performances that caress the soul and create enchanting soundscapes. Anna emerges from the Prague art scene as a painter who freely transitions between painting and sound. Drawing inspiration from nature and her personal mythology, she weaves soundscapes that transport the listener into hypnotic states.

With her ethereal voice, enchanting flute and magnetic stage presence, she often appears as a solo artist but also collaborates with various artists to expand her artistic expression.

Anna Ruth - IL Paese Incantato

'Repetitions' adventures to imitate the 'stuck-in-your-head-melody' feeling through evolving modular jams in the usual, audibly hands-on AIWA manner. Tracks 'o_ato2_HT' and 'o_ato_1' focus on one progression, while 'H_ee_ji' breaks a hole inbetween them with a never-fulfilled lead sequence. Best listened while crossing dunes in the sunset on an All-terrain vehicle.

Aiwa - Repetitions (FARB041 | 2024)

Andremodor Modaleda is a character, a planet or expression. I can hide in it and with it within my own safe zone, where bad news and problems cannot reach me. A.M. isolates me from the outside world, she helps me to carry on representing the good side in everyday life and in art alike. I wish to resolve, play, fight and interpret. 

We carry a lot of frustration. Political pressure, hatred, wars, being concerned for our human rights, losing our freedom of speech, social inequality, climate change, isolation, personal struggles and so on. I feel unsafe more and more frequently and that I am incredibly sorrowful. I wanted to highlight an initiative that bothered me and create an album about, but I found the topic too vast and the problem seed to be too complex so I could not find a focused enough concept. Therefore I choose frustration and blowing off the steam as a topic. 

This material serves to aid me release anxiety, anger and fear. During making music I can fulfil play-like mechanisms. What I mean as playing, is when I am gaming, holding workshops for kids or when I am just running around in the garden like a fool. 

While my previous release (EGMÁ) was about purgation in the digital space, the Andremodor Modaleda is (about) isolation and recharging. Playing swings me over difficulties, and I hope my music will serve the same purpose for others.
