(Tell me, oh my mother,
What virtue should I have? 
I long to live like you
What have I to do?)

Be a field for the divine / oh my child 
Come pray with me as I say / oh my child 
Behold I am yours / let it be as you will 
So that you may bear Him / and be a member in Him 
Hear me, oh my child / I am your mother 

Feel the presence of the Lord / in private prayer 
Silent prayer will edify / you oh my child 
Teaching you to utter / the heavenly language 
Be considered as those / standing in the heavens 
Hear me, oh my child, I am your mother 

Cling to the Bridegroom / be a wise virgin
Hold fast to the Lord / that you may walk His way
That you may have purity / of heart and soul

There is nothing sweeter, than the time of prayer
It saves me from my tribulations, and I gain His contentment
It keeps pain away from me, and enlightens my heart 
It opens the gates of heaven, and then my Lord hears me
My necessities He provides, my illnesses he heals 
He does grant me all of my needs, and has me rejoice in them
In time of my sadness, my Lord forgets me not
He holds me with His right hand, and He strengthens my faith
There is nothing sweeter, than the time of prayer
The God of heaven rejoices, and gives me life
He promised salvation, if we pray unto Him
Our sicknesses he can heal them, if we come to Him 
His love for us is great, His mercy is everlasting 
We must always pray to God, prayer time is beneficial

Once I wandered so far away
from my Good Savior Jesus.
He came to me, He who saved me,
and called for me to return.

Refrain: 
His sweet voice did call me, call me:
“Prolong not thy straying away.

Cruel thorns left my feet to bleed out,
wounds and agony unparalleled.
I heard the Voice call out to me,

A stranger I lived in the world
A foreigner like my forefathers
A pilgrim in my attitude
In my thoughts and my desires
A Stranger, I have no one to
Unload on him, my thoughts so true

The people do not like my roots
Nor do they understand my end
In craze arise the multitude
In maddening noise without an end
And I remain in solitude
Serenity in my heart felt
A stranger, I can find no home
Nor a corner to rest alone

I cast away the world's pleasures
Ignoring her callings to me
I went, I dragged away my things
Away from their merry-makings
My heart silent, indifferent
To all they think is important
My listening will never yield
To loud and worldly conversing

I wander off all on my own
So happy to be in the vast
With my timbrel and my cymbal
And melodies of praise I sing
And now comes the holy moment
In which I Retreat with my King
I roam about as a spirit
Invisible to on-lookers
