Happy New Year, you dirty little rascals. We are honoured to open 2025 with a special sequel in the Reptilian Mixes Saga: the very first recording of @atawel's live act.

Since the release of his Colors EP on 129 rec, our boi Raph has been fine-tuning his long-awaited live debut. The reptile farmer performed across multiple venues in Europe, with recent highlights ranging from the upper deck of our favourite Berlin boat, to deep in the ravy woods of the Cévennes.

Atawël - Reptilian (Live) Mix 13

DIM315 sees Italy's cinema savant and DJ/producer Simone De Kunovich in fine form. Recorded in late summer, there's a brightness to the hour long journey which feels sorely missed right now. A resident at NYC's Public Records and Hong Kong's Mihn, plus a member of the Love On The Rocks extended family, it's easy to see why Simone's increasingly in demand.

This is an old mix from my days at the wonderful little echo system of independent music, free thinking and full on partying that was Swag Records. It was recorded at some point in 1999 at Rob Pearson's old  studio in West Croydon. It's kind of fast because we were all on drugs at least 70% of the time back then. We gave CDs of it away to our regular customers as part of our Swag Records mix series. I feel like it captures a little bit of the vibe from those times.

For those uninitiated, Black loops has had a solid run of EPs over the years and has undoubtedly made his mark in the house scene. Not only is he a very respected house Dj and producer, he is a versatile drummer known for effortlessly blending genres with proper raw feel and energy.

For those lucky enough to be in Berlin, Riccardo will be preforming his debut album Always Moving with a full live band at Prince Charles on the 9th May. If you’re in the B then you’d be mad to miss it!

Ba Dum Tish Mix - Black Loops

This mix is inspired by our latest digs, as well as selections that we've kept over the years that feel timeless to us. We've crafted it in a way that shows how we move through our own sets, with a driving groove that captures a shift from day through to night. You'll find a mix of house, breaks and techno, from artists we love both old and new. We loved putting this together as it's a showcase of what you can expect to see from us over our gigs this summer - we hope you enjoy it too!

Multi Multi Mix Vol. 12: Mother Earth

Tamer ElDerini pays homage to his Egyptian roots with a majestic organic house EP on Baikal Nomads, which also includes downtempo and progressive house remixes by BEBO (EG), Andrew Shartner, and G.O.D.A.

One of Egypt's most accomplished electronic music producers, Tamer ElDerini is a Cairo-based artist. His music combines traditional Middle Eastern instruments with modern electronic sounds. He is making his debut on Baikal Nomads following music on other respected record label such as Sol Selectas, • kosa •, Cosmic Awakenings, and Pipe & Pochet.

Complementing the two original tracks are three remixes. The first rework is by BEBO (EG), who is an Egyptian artist making music that's a cultural tapestry. Taking the tribal percussion of Afro house, he mixes in Middle Eastern melodies from his own heritage, and fuses them with electronic sounds. His tracks and remixes can be heard on the likes of Cafe De Anatolia and Shango Records.

Based in Western Siberia, Andrew Shartner is a Baikal Nomads regular, whose style is inspired by nature and its striking landscapes.

G.O.D.A. is another Egyptian artist, and he is an ambassador for Egypt's underground scene. He has played DJ sets all over the world, and his storytelling style has garnered an international fanbase. His organic style of progressive house has been released by prestigious record labels such as 3rd Avenue.

The title track, "Desert Voice," opens the release with a throbbing bass synth, laying a foundation for the enchanting melodies of Middle Eastern strings. "Dana Dana" is second of the original tracks, and its tranquil pads, Arabic vocals, and delicate piano melodies, intertwine with flowing percussion. BEBO (EG)'s remix of "Dana Dana" adds extra percussion and an arpeggio bassline, which brings an Afro house groove to the original's string melodies. Andrew Shartner delivers a downtempo remix of "Dana Dana," which strips out the strings to focus on trippy guitar chords. G.O.D.A. closes the release with a progressive house remix of "Desert Voice” that utilises a new melody and melodic pads.
