The first long player to drop on Radiant Records is Pansy Beat, the debut album from label head Byron Yeates.

The ten tracks on Pansy Beat are suffused with Byron’s musical influences, showcasing the full breadth and depth of his sonic world. Woven with subtle nods to the UK rave continuum, the album reverberates with the sounds of ’90s London radio that soundtracked Byron’s early years.

Starry-eyed IDM, jangly electronica, rolling drum and bass, and playful references to new wave and synth-pop converge alongside the rich tapestry of house music on which Yeates has built his reputation as a DJ and producer.

Carefully arranged and seamlessly flowing, the tracks balance playful charm with serious intent — insouciant basslines, glossy synths, dreamy pads, and moody atmospherics are laced with clever sampling and intricate percussion — a journey to the end of the night that tiptoes between euphoria and melancholy with a subversively camp pop sensibility.

Sitting somewhere between a dance music and home listening album, Pansy Beat echoes the mood of a DJ set from Byron Yeates: an intimate, seductive, and playful collection of tracks, grounded by a classic sensibility shaped by a lifetime of musical word-building.

If you haven’t heard of Dublin native Drua before, you’ve probably heard his music anyway. And if you have heard of him, well then… you know just how fortunate we are to have him on our September instalment. Sláinte!  The infectious, playful energy permeating his productions earned a warm welcome from prestigious imprint Punctuality Records, with his debut described by the label as “suspiciously proficient” and his most recent record as a modern take on “the canon of golden era late 90s and early 2000s”. Not a bad accolade at all for a producer with just two EPs under his belt! This mix is no different, as Drua hones in on a nostalgic, brooding groove over the course of an hour.  

Need we say more? Trust us, it's good craic.

Although our summer finale at SET Vault was one to remember, here's something sure to jog your memory...

This month's edition was recorded live from 6pm to 9pm under the 21 year-old prog auteur's guidance, straight from the murky depths of South London's most cherished dancefloor.

Three twisted hours at the helm at the venue's last ever day party, leaving the entire room in the haze. Listen for yourself, but be warned — this one's not for the faint-hearted. You can find it in the usual place on SoundCloud via the link in bio.
