We are thrilled to present you the first full-length album by Xavier Fabre and Bibiana Graeff aka Xique- Xique! 

Following the flow of their first “Xaxoeira“ EP (which means „Waterfalls“ in Portuguese, but spelled in a poetic way) the Album sets an artistic landmark at „Na Lagoa“ (At the Lake).  

The 10 album tracks were composed during the last three years between Istanbul, Bangkok, and Heliodora (Brazil). Especially from this tropical haven, you will find plenty of field recordings throughout the album, like the bird called „Siriema“ in the same-titled track. Besides the Xique-Xique trademark sound featuring crispy beats, organic percussions, bell-like synth sounds, and a lot of love for the detail you will find Bibiana herself as well as Bruna Takasse (the voice of „Xaxoeira“) on Vocal duties.  „Na Lagoa“ is structured as Dawn, Midday, Nightfall and Midnight, and invites you to spend the day at an imaginary lake. In the water, you feel the warm synth textures enclosing you just before cascades of arpeggios start to drop into your ear. Once on the other bank, you wander around and observe the fantastic flora and fauna: dubby effects fly by like surreal bugs, mesmerizing synth themes roaming the scenery like bewitched wild animals that welcome you in a dreamlike future-jungle-fantasy.

De Las Esferas - Atropico (Estimua Remix) [Downtempo Rituals Premiere]

Shika Shika is glad to announce the new version of our classic Botanas series, this time featuring Scottish producer Kusht. 

This EP is a perfect example of Kusht's musical journey, as two of the songs were dug out from an old demo folder. "Blurry Wemba" began as a jam with an old friend, Veslemøy, who provides the almost haunting vocals as the track evolves into something playful. "Midnight Organ Call," the track that triggered the EP's overall sound, is also an old demo. The song was inspired by hearing a giant organ being played in Glasgow's Kelvingrove Museum and envisioned within the dark rainforest. Both tracks feature vocal sampling and chopping from the Wemba Tribe, the recordings are from circa 1930 and are catalogued by the amazing website revivethis.org. A Kusht release wouldn't be complete without a signature guitar track, and "Black Rock Cruise'' gives us that in a bluesy laidback tone. 

Kusht wanted the EP to have an adventurous feel and a hard-to-pin-down direction - "I always want the listener to be able to close their eyes and visualise a place. I think with this release, somewhere tropical and dangerous comes to my imagination. In fact, I see crocodiles, an old steamboat, and a casino within 'Black Rock Cruise,' but that's maybe just me..."

A mood we can very well enjoy to bury in deeply and with Luise's newest release listen to closely. »MENTIS EXCESSUS« is a tenderly crafted tale, a musical journey that paints broad images of false memories and blurry resemblances. Like a Déjà-vu that lasts too long to put aside, it crawls up your neck to give you that eerie feeling of curiosity with which you look at the uncanny world that suddenly surrounds you.

We are very pleased to welcome »WIDE AWAKE« as the most recent addition to Luises's sheltered, little family, a project that has its foundations at the talented hands and hearts of »Niju«, »Ninze« & »Okaxy«. These three banded together for greater good to provide nothing less, but their as well as Laut & Luise's first album.

What is state of mind? 
When we try to respond to this question, the answer may at first seem easy. Is it? 

We fail to put our finger on a clear definition of the state of mind, we sometimes get around this failure, using a simple trick we call "adjectives": words that designate an attribute of a noun. 

By following this trick, a state of mind can be described as "relaxed", "loving", "inattentive", etc... This is a trick that gives us the possibiltiy to come up with  infinite eidetic variations, without ever getting to the core of all the complexity of the phenomenon. 

Sometimes, we try to describe it as the similarities that we share with eachother, like an umbrella, a concept of life, an ideal.  
Although one's state of mind might be called "equal" to that of another's, when both express similar interests or ways of approaching things, it is, deep down, as personal as it can be. The other is always, to some extent, alien. 

Still, when we are lost for words, the music begins.
