As part of the Paddock Studio Session, Mimika was featured with their new tune "Enter the Yadhe" from a broad project "Divinities of the Earth and the Waters" about forgotten ideas behind living rituals.

Yadhe is an albino undead spirit of undefined gendre that captures the souls of young men and controls them ! It can only be stopped if exposed to sunshine.

OŠTIJA! Nakon 4 godine potrage dovršio sam jedan kolaž inspiriran mojim krajem i vrelom raritetnih ploča lokalne festivalske karavane Melodije Istre i Kvarnera. Nakon što sam jednom prilikom ubrao masni 'Ča je more' break na festivalskom singlu proširio sam potragu na ostala izdanja i začudio sam se koliko je bilo funky numera na ovom festivalu u prošlosti. MIK je specifičan festival, ponajviše zbog korištenja lokalnog melosa i poprilično psihodelične istarske ljestvice, a onda i zbog toga što su festivalske ploče izdavane u malim nakladama i mogu se pronaći samo na MIK lokalitetima. Između masnih grooveova i brejkova ima naravno i onih momenata koji čine MIK, MIK-om. Ala šu!

A BBC Radio 3 broadcast with the BBC Philharmonic conducted by Sir Peter Maxwell Davies followed in February 2000 (this recording).     

For me, Pagan II is undoubtedly the most frightening, austere work I have ever composed. It is a personal glimpse into the abyss. The music has a ritualistic feel to it, as if some huge arcane and barbaric ceremony was being witnessed, and the participants of the ceremony were being, in turn, entranced through hypnotic 'dance', and brutalised through music which is violent, both rhythmically and harmonically. Pagan II is not intended to be a desolate pronouncement on our future, rather a glimpse of the unthinkable. Both Pagan I and II can be performed as a complete work.

Mak Murtic is a London and Zagreb based saxophonist, multiinstrumentalist and composer. His main projects are Mimika Orchestra and Truth ≠ Tribe. He also plays in bands Antenat, Maja Rivic Septet and occasionally guests in various other groups. He is a freelance composer and arranger writing for various ensembles, most frequently for the Croatian Radio Television Big Band but also for films and theatres.

Mimika is a London and Zagreb based alternative world concept jazz ensemble.

Truth ≠ Tribe is a Zagreb based alternative world rock jazz quartet.
