One day I found a wonderful improvisation video of my friend Sanador del Viento, who masterfully played his harmonica during a Ceremony: it moved me a lot and brought me back to Colombia, in the jungle, where it all began.. "Buena pinta" it is a little tribute to the mysterious force of the Taitas, to the forest, to the Yagé, to the Medicine and its healing power, to the visceral love for Life and Nature. DJ Taz Rashid & Momentology - Vagabonds (Songs Of Eden Remix)

You are invited to take a moment to contemplate what it means to embody receptivity. In what ways can you embrace and accept what is happening in your life? What can you feel going on in your body, mind, and emotions? Be receptive to it all, and allow the energy to flow into your dance. Often times it is through surrender and receptivity that a clear path forward is provided.

This set was played for Asheville Movement Collective's Sunday morning dance on May 16th. There's a lot of bird medicine in this set through the lyrics of a couple of songs. I didn't plan it out that way, it just happened. 

And so on the day of the dance, while we danced outside in my yard, of course, feeling our call a hawk circled us as Deya Dova's song "Return of the Bird Tribes" began, and then later during our closing circle as Shaunna was sharing her dance experience she noticed a hawk flying above her outside her house where she was dancing. And as she describes this to us all, my housemates and I saw our hawk return to circle above us! Praise the magic of our winged allies who help to sooth the winds of change that cross our skies. We love you!
