Outlandish, a member of the music group called Poman Hustle, is using his music to break racial barriers in hip hop. Born and raised in the small Florida city of Vero Beach, Outlandish has always been drawn to various kinds of music and enjoyed freestyling as an expressive outlet while growing up. Not wanting his life to become stagnant, he moved to Atlanta to explore new opportunities. Living in Atlanta widened his perspective on music as he interacted with aspiring performers from all walks of life, which inspired him to come back to his hometown to pursue his desire to be a rapper. “I had to leave so that I could experience growth. But I knew when I came back that I wasn’t going to settle for complacency and do nothing with my life. I felt trapped, and the only way out was music,” he expressed. Music helped Outlandish deal with his problems from his past in a more positive way and hopes to encourage others to find a healthy outlet to channel their emotions.
