A paixão de Mimi pela música é antiga: além de se engajar no piano e integrar uma orquestra sinfônica por 14 anos, ela continuou e desenvolveu ainda mais a vocação do pai de colecionar discos. Há 7 anos comanda a série de mixes CTW, dedicada a compartilhar e descobrir música nova com artistas ao redor do globo.

Neste mix, ela mistura com coerência gêneros como downtempo, breaks, EBM, baleárico, música oriental, e além, fruto de sua pesquisa vasta que passa por diversas épocas e geografias.

Passionate about music since childhood, pianist and symphony orchestra member for over 14 years, Mimi naturally extend her father's vinyl collection in her late teens. Seven years ago, she created the series CTW Podcasts, a safe place devoted to musical expression and discovery sharing with an irrepressible desire to share her passion with artists from around the world. Her music explores a vast repertoire of styles and genres, a universe that blends downtempo, breaks, EBM, balearic, hip-hop and Raï music into a fluid movement.

This much was obvious, as much as our admiration for the collective endeavour of our contemporaries in reassessing and reappreciating the past, finding and sharing new ways to listen to it, learn from it and love it all over again. But what never fails to impress us is to realise how timelessly universal this ethic has become, pervading many generations all around the world and captivating people as young as our guest for this episode. Looking at any of the many fronts that make up the multifarious agency of this jeune parisienne, it is hard not to admire her utterly relentless and extremely reliable efforts in making all things musical as accessible and as danceable as possible, regardless of when it was done or where it came from. Mimi's movements in the scene, from her leading role at the fantastic CTW Podcasts to wonderful selections such as this one, are guided by this passion for discovery and driven by a desire to disseminate her treasures as far as she can. A deeply relatable mission with which we are just helping her out.

Pablo DiscoBar e "er cuggino de Urbano" si sono conosciuti 6 anni fa, una sera a casa di Alice durante una festa. Mentre Pablo DiscoBar metteva i dischi, l'altro cercava di rubare dei 45 giri dalla sua borsa. Durante un passaggio dalla Bertè a Mina, Pablo si accorse di non avere più il disco che cercava e dovette rimediare all'improvviso con una traccia sconosciuta di Renato Zero, la serata finì ugualmente bene ma si accorse dell'improvvisa assenza di "er cuggino de Urbano", simpatico conoscitore di musica italiana ma molto confusionario e disturbato.
Lo incrociò una domenica di qualche settimana dopo a Porta Portese mentre guardava i 45 giri su un banco di un napoletano. Vedendolo lo salutò e l’altro candidamente gli confesso:

"Ho preso dei tuoi 45 giri! E’ stato più forte di me! Li ho dovuti prendere! Come ci rivediamo te li ridò... ...anzi venerdì portate dietro un po` de dischi che vieni co me e li mettemo a na festa di un amico mio, un ber ragazzo pure lui mezzo separato, na storia strana, è l'amico de Martucci... lo conosci no?!"

“Vabbè ma chi tte conosce? Ma chi so questi? Ma dammi i dischi miei e ciao"...

"Come nun me conosci so “er cuggino de Urbano”, venerdì se vedemo a Testaccio ar Mattatoio alle 21 che ce sta sta’ festa! Fidate c'è stanno 'nsacco de donne, certe so pure divorziate, c'è sta da beve e fanno er rinfresco... fidate abbi fede”

E fu così che tramite un furto/prestito Pablo DiscoBar e "er cuggino de Urbano" si conobbero. Vi faranno entrare nel loro mondo, popolato di cantanti dimenticati, tracce più o meno oscure cantate da cantanti più o meno affermati, musica fresca come una fetta di cocomero o un ghiacciolo alla menta, un antidoto alla tristezza e un inno ai tempi andati via.
