Ampispazi Recordings’ 2016 continues with the label’s talent @ramsi 's debut album ‘Electronic Algorhythm Poetry’ out on digital on the 30 of March 

After putting together a truly inspired roster of talents, Ampispazi has started focusing on some of the artists that surround the Berlin’s imprint Galaxy. One of these is Milan-s based Ramsi, previously half of One Million Circuits. His solo projects have always found a home in Ampispazi's catalogue. The producer, whose style varies from the atmospheres of melodic Techno to the spacey sounds of New Trance, has worked hard in his Milan’s studio between 2014 and 2015 and finally put together his very first long play. ‘Electronic Algorhythm Poetry’ aims to tell a tale while trying to open doors to the International music scene. 

Fans of Border Community, Modeselektor as well as Innervision will dig this 12 tracker, as it mainly features 4/4 beats, giving the album a marked club-friendly vitality. But that’s not just it. The album includes a range of gear, from drum machines and real drums, to synths and samples: a pure ensemble of modern Electronic Music knowledge, merging different genres as the tracks go along. 

Like a crescendo, the LP starts off with ‘Sottofondo Romantico’ (romantic background) which fuses dub with a broken jazzy beat. The Sky Above the Earth is the track that gets the journey started, followed by the cleverly produced Palinopsia. His subtle mysterious atmospheres are well presented with the paranoid Crystalized and the explosive Mantra. Ramsi knows his machines well and delivers the enchanted Walk In 303, after which comes the Petar Dundov - like Pathos. The build up of the LP moves thing to a more emotional note with Another Day and Hang The Beat before killing it with 3 dance floor monsters La Fiaba, Aurea and Love Is Not A Word. The last 3 are clearly a homage to a variety of music styles from Detroit Techno to the more modern Berlin’s one.

"I was using the Control Forge to go into 8 stage modulation CV shapes, stepping slowly in random order to the Amp decay Pitch etc on the BD9, can get really interesting, made for some serious abstract weirdness. Love it.

I ran the BD9 through the new black hole DSP module by Erica Synths, and the Mutable Instruments Clouds running a unreleased firmware, and finally some Rainmaker X 2 for the snare processing, pitch delays. There is also a bit of Z-DSP, Eventide H9, AD Reverb, OWL, and ErbVerb too. Lots of SFX going on this one"

"This mix contains unreleased music I’ve written over the last two/three years. Some from my forthcoming album on !K7 and Aus Music – which is out soon – and also tracks from forthcoming EP’s on Andy Hart’s Voyage Recordings and Cab Drivers’s Eclipser Chaser.

Initially I had planned to record my LP in a blended, uninterrupted fashion, but decided against it for numerous reasons. It was great to get the opportunity to do this mix – to blend a good chunk of the LP tracks, along with some of the more club-orientated tracks I’ve also got coming out soon.

Jahtari Promo Mixtape for SKANK IT UP Paris

Just 4 modules! Basically this is the same patch as the one used in this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DV34aonyr_w - this was recorded just a few minutes after the video. During this recording I changed quite a few of the knobs on the fly. Basic patch - wogglebug (modulated by smooth cv) clock out into the Klee Sequencer. Klee A and B out are driving the Buchla 258 clone, one cv per side, the 258 is also cross modulating itself. The out of the top half of the 258 is going into side B of the Korgasmatron III filter in bandpass  mode (I think), which is being frequency modulated by the A+B out from the Klee. There's quite a bit of resonance on the Korgasmatron, so it's adding pitches too, sometimes. And the signal is being panned with a signal from the stepped out from the wogglebug.
