Dan Baartz is back on Trojan House with his signature big bass deep-tech sound. Reflection is an odyssey landscaped by a motion full drum groove on top of a coarse throbbing bass that forces movement. Adding to the flow of this atmospheric creeper is some dark and gorgeous synth work intertwined with a tight inspirational vocal.

Botox hits us hard down low again with a deep droning bass. The groove is constructed around the delayed vocal hook, and the track is complimented with an array of atmospheric pads that create a very danceable, driving and dark vibe.

Hugo steps up, and his remix of Reflection can be described as anything but stable! With a low hovering bass line morphing in and out of the drum groove in unity to keep floors moving, the use of powerful bass drones, synth waves, and tailed fills across the spectrum will have people on their toes trying to keep up.

Pablo Say's interpretation of Botox is a massive tech house monster! Once again, this cut has a dark eerie vibe compliments of the choices of pad and bass tones. With snappy effected drum fills and builds, it's slightly faster pace and deep sub bass, this track has the power to move the toughest dance floors!

Black Visions Collective is committed to a long term vision in which ALL Black lives not only matter, but are able to thrive. What we know to be true in order to create this world is that oppressed people, especially Black people, need to build collective power in order to create systems transformation. Through the development of powerful strategic campaigns, we seek to expand the power of Black people across the Twin Cities metro area and Minnesota. This can look like delivering mobilization and action goals as part of a national coalition in which Black lives are centered, but it most often looks like visioning and leading targeted collaborative local campaigns that advance a concrete impact for people’s lives here, while also advancing a shift in public narrative that connects to transformative long-term change.

National Bail Out is a Black-led and Black-centered collective of abolitionist organizers, lawyers and activists building a community-based movement to support our folks and end systems of pretrial detention and ultimately mass incarceration.

when i started the mix with a sketch i was working on the last days i noticed a passage where a sound of a piano key beeing released sounded a bit like a voice. this sound reminded me of something. almost like i could here a voice speaking. i found this small piece by gill scott-heron, whose voice-sound is just so iconic it sticks with you, once you have heard it the first time. here he is reciting 'the revolution will not be televised...'. so eventhough i wouldn't have wanted to make a topical reflection on what happened and happens in america these days, the memory of his voice must have come to me through some sort of collective unconsciousness and i couldn't else but remember my first ever album my brother released on his lable tokyo trauma back in 2005 - the title was <<die wiederholung der geschichte der amerikanische heimatlosigkeit>> (the repetition of the history of the american homelessness)...
so on one hand the mix has this tension or struggle between immediacy, actuality and memory, america and europe if you want, on the other hand i just thought of a monday night walk in the city and mixed a bunch of archival sketches with some tracks i came to like. i hope you enjoy.
