BABA SY (@babasy) and 3xOJ (@3xoj) release a new piece of music called - SATHIE - that denounces state thieves. It is a scream amidst material and cultural plunder. It is an observation of a sad reality that confirms that as long as our governments continue to steal from us we will continue to emigrate to get what we lack at home, since our goods are constantly up for auction in the West, if you stole from us yesterday, you steal from us today and you are going to steal tomorrow, then what is left for us to live with?

« Founded almost four years ago, Le Motel’s Maloca Records has excelled in world-building as it tirelessly brings together some of the best and most innovative artists from different pockets of the club community around the world. This is showcased most notably through the compilation series which returns for its second volume on the 8th December as it combines both established and breakthrough artists.

Across 17 tracks, Maloca, Vol. 2 features both label family and exciting debuts with the likes of Farsight, Griffit Vigo, and DJ JM returning to the imprint. The rest of the compilation sees knockout contributions from the likes of Bambounou, Flore, Konduku, Tristan Arp, NVST, De Grandi, Neida, Cheb Runner, Malo2k, Leese, Ultima Esuna & Destrata, Mika Oki, M I M I and Space Drum Meditation. Whilst these artists may be from different cities across the pond, they all have something in common - they are leading the way for the next wave of club music. Whether that’s the riotous sounds of NVST, Griffit Vigo’s ever- evolving landscape of gqom, Tristan Arp’s signature insect-inspired soundscape, the emerging Brussels-based artists M I M I and Mika Oki or the trippy, introspective melodies of Konduku and Space Drum Meditation. Maloca, Vol. 2, captures a mind-melting moment in time.

The artwork is by Brussels-based painter Anastasia Bay who’s work presents a renewed vision of the human figure. Oscillating between abstraction and figuration, Anastasia Bay’s work is all about contrast and balance. The choice of a precise fragment of reality in her works dissolves any narration. »

T5UMUT5UMU is a Tokyo-based producer whose music is characterised by an exceptionally diverse blend of elements that showcase a distinctive style. His creatively rich approach involves drawing inspiration from Eastern cultures and a variety of instruments, which he skilfully weaves into UK-style club tracks. The resulting sound seamlessly fuses elements such as HARD DRUM, dark breakbeats, grime and DnB to create innovative and captivating compositions. His releases on labels such as Hakuna Kulala, Eastern Margins, FunctionLab, TREKKIE TRAX, Ashida Park and Eco Futurism Corporation have attracted audiences from both the local and international scenes due to his eclectic musical style and imaginative approach.

Presenting the 33rd release with NHS is stelios.exe, being a Marseille-based producer fusing early music traditions with forward-momentous electronic sound design. Having a Trained background in medieval, Renaissance, and baroque music, his release 'Crystal Towers' explores new sonic territory by blending ancestral techniques with experimental tools. Said EP marks a pivotal turning point for our artist, which features the use of his own voice and the Renaissance flute for the first time in conjunction with a synthetic palette. Sonically, Influences draw from the likes of Oneohtrix Point Never, The Knife, and Renaissance composers such as Byrd or Gesualdo, stelios.exe embraces a transgressive approach to aural sound design.

Speaking on his works: Suspended above the chaos of the world, the Crystal Towers act as beacons in the night, warning of dangers while offering spaces of retreat. Their walls are both mirror and prism: they reflect the world's passions and torments, while also capturing a fragmented celestial light. This interplay of reflections gives birth to ghostly visions, remnants of a forgotten empire, now altered and deformed. 'Crystal Towers' is a dive into solitude, an impulse to withdraw into an inner sanctuary to silence the turmoil. Glitchy, saturated synths reverberate eerily along the translucent surfaces, while Renaissance flutes rise like beams of light piercing ancient stained glass. 

The voice, shifting between the angelic and the monstrous, gives shape to both the vilest and the most sublime emotions haunting the human soul. The composition of the EP draws on early Baroque monody, a turning point when melody and harmony broke free, allowing the human voice to bare its most intimate affects. Throughout 'Crystal Towers', melodies oscillate between fragility and vertiginousness, exposing our innermost struggles in their purest form.
