Here's a short mix of some favorite Old Calypso tunes made between 1956 & 1960, recorded from original vinyls of my collection (Sorry, some are in pity condition!!) 
Most of them are minor style calypso and come from Trinidad & Tobago the native land of Calypso (except for 'Love Alone' that come from Nassau, many were performed & recorded in Nex-York)
Calypso is about commitments, since the very beginning in the 20s to fight slavery it has always remain a voice to express political & social issues but also simple day life stories and with a hot comical lyrical tradition ! 
Many influences here, and huge roots for further musical styles & tendencies to come thanx to this heritage (Soca, reggae, ska, but also hip hop or dancehall to me by the lyricist tradition, the rhythm ....)
I prepare this lil' selection in honor of the great Calypso Queen : Calypso Rose, for our next party coming in Geneva at Les Creatives Festival Nov. the 11th 2016.

Desde 2008 trabaja en forma autogestiv: escribiendo poemas, haciendo libros con tapas de carton que recicla de las calles de Paraguay y realizando eventos y proyectos relacionados con la poesía, el amor a la naturaleza y el desaprendizaje de la esclavitud . Ahora improvisa y abre su corazon a la musica fotónica del rio de las piedras . Como si el Ayvu derramándose insomne de la duramadre kósmica diera los últimos mensajes.
