In a country where the music scene is heavily cis-male-dominated, queer, Black identities are rarely invited to play together. This initial set of B2B sessions marks a change in the island's narrative and a new rhizomatic node in the underground music scene. 

This set was recorded live at the inauguration of El Chisme RD, November 6, 2021, in Ciudad Nueva, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. El Chisme RD is an experimental cultural space that provides online and offline spaces for Black, queer, trans, travesti, femme identities to experiment creatively.

Maldita Vaina is a queer, Dominican Sudanese artist, DJ, and facilitator. “I approach Djing as a facilitated conversation. The dance floor opens the possibility to imagine and create. Movement transforms energy in an enclosed space, colliding and fusing with bodies, opening a chance to reconfigure our memories and create new imaginaries. I find hope in the transience of the dance floor and a new way to document our QTTBIPOC histories exploring the (trans-oceanic) history of Black movement-migration.”

Este conjunto inicial de sesiones B2B marcan un cambio en la narrativa de la isla y un nuevo nodo rizomático en la escena musical underground.

Este set fue grabado en vivo en la inauguración de El Chisme RD, el 6 de noviembre de 2021, en Ciudad Nueva, Santo Domingo, República Dominicana. Encuentro esperanza en la 
emphemeralidad de la pista de baile y una nueva forma de documentar nuestras historias GLBTTIA+ explorando la historia (transoceánica) del movimiento-migración negra ".
