Last black friday I decided to extend my string libraries and bought CSS and CSSS. In order to really work my way into this libraries, get to know their strengths and weaknesses and to learn how to properly use it, I wrote this piece called "Sehnsucht" (German for "longing").
It took me quite a while to get the arrangement and sound right but here it is! :-D

A simple flower warmed by the spring sun and abandoned to a gentle breeze...
I would like to dedicate this improvisation to the recently deceased Japanese Master Ryuichi Sakamoto, to whom I thought while playing.

By the 17th and 18th Century with sharply rising import duties financing Britain's then frequent wars, the general scarcity of foreign luxuries with a focus on salt, wines, spirits, tea, silk and lace caused a shift towards smuggling goods inwards. Large profits were to be made from smuggling and its illegal business.

Taxes and duties were increasing. Goods that were smuggled into the country could make a great deal of profit on the black market . Smuggled goods were popular with people as they were usually cheaper than legally imported goods.

The main items smuggled in the 18th century were tea, wine, spirits and lace.
