Leon Gray presents his song cycle, Kō Āhau Anake (I Am Alone), performed in Te Reo (Maori). This deeply sad, four-movement work explores grief with rich Romantic, dramatic harmony combined with well-crafted vocal lines and thick piano figures. Written to bring a tear to any eye, if you've loved and lost, this work will speak to you, through the rich vowels of maori language. 

In Movement 2, "Mena I Hoki Mai Koe" (If You Came Back), the singer dreams of what life would be like if the departed one could return.
